New owner-recommendations needed in Tucson
Hi guys, Tucson gets a new Cobra. BDR with a Roush engine and a 6 speed.
The car was previously in FL and seems to be running rich here. Where do local owners take their Cobras for carb adjustments and general maintenance. |
Carb tuning for Tucson
Most of us DIY. Depending on your carb you may need to adjust a step or two leaner in jets for Tucson altitude (2500 ft) above Florida's 0 ft. Look for the Holley web site that has lots of videos and information. Pump jet, pump cam, secondary spring (if vacuum)can also lean it out at acceleration. I have a set of jets (Holley from 55 to 65). If you really want to fine tune it, higher temps also call for leaner jets. Timing and cams, headers and air filter all effect end result. Sorry I don't know of a good dyno place. Maybe someone else does.

Flash, welcome to the madness. We (Phoenix Cobra folks) rarely hear of runs or activities by the Tucson group but we're hoping that can change this year. A bunch of them met us for lunch, at Oracle Junction, several weeks ago and it was real nice to be able to get together with them. One of our members, Joe Bria, sends out eMails with info about things we plan and we'd certainly be glad to have you join us, any time. If you want, send him your eMail address and he'll add you to the notifications.
likenu2@cox.net Welcome to the Madness. A couple things to remember: A Cobra WILL try to kill you, if you let it NEVER hit the go-pedal until the car is going straight. It'll get away from you in the blink of an eye. |
I got an eMail reply from the actual new BDR owner. Flash was just posting the info for him. I'll be sending Joe Bria his eMail address so he will be included in notifications of our activities.
