The next no fly zone event in Gila Bend would be perfect. It should be an annual outing for this group.:cool::MECOOL::rolleyes:

Karl Bebout 07-09-2017 11:59 AM

Oct. 22, 2017. Itsa coming. The number of entrants is limited and registration is done, on line only, before the event.
Here it is....if you really want to do it. Tain't cheap but probably the only safe way to back up the sabre rattling, and much cheaper than a ticket or a crash.

I don't have a fast car, any more so I'll be a spectator.

Oh boy- The trash talkin's getting REAL... **)

Those 2 cars squaring off against each other wouldn't prove which car is better; it would only prove who the better driver is...

Karl Bebout 07-09-2017 01:13 PM

RB, certainly SOME driving skill would be needed, but a rolling start, 1/2mile top speed event would be a good indication of which car was faster. Since the timing trials are open and there are no eliminations, the two could do 2 out of 3, 3 out of 5, etc so they each could learn the best procedure to get the most out of their cars. Seems like the truest test, to me, as it'll take driver's skill or differences in tires or suspension or gearing pretty well out of the picture.

Dan, 4910, I can get you on track at Inde so bring 'em on down and you can both get smoked by a Viper or two! Weekend of 7/22 works or 8/12 or 8/19. 15-20 degrees cooler in Wilcox than in the valley so can run at least in the mornings. Scottie you can bring the orange car too. Up to 5 guests on track. All spectators welcome!

csx4910 07-09-2017 03:32 PM

I am not picking a fight with a viper since I saw one with 2000 HP that looked like it would eat anything that got in the way but may take you up in the future to get on the track. I haven't been to that track, what are the specs?

DWRAT 07-09-2017 05:36 PM

Hey Ron,
We don't need to stinking race track, we both live right by the 101.
Lets do a 50 mph roll up till you can't see my tail lights anymore....:LOL::LOL:

csx4910 07-09-2017 06:01 PM

Not going to risk Jail! Not that my daily driver hasn't seen triple digit speeds in excess of the factory limiter now that has been removed. the I17 at 5 am going north has some empty stretches of road. Is yours the Z06 since chevys need that extra supercharger and 100+ to help try to beat a Mustang. :D::D

csx4910 07-09-2017 06:12 PM

Too bad on ramps don't have 2 lanes:)

Pmiller176 07-09-2017 06:45 PM

Well we're only 650 or so HP but still quick. Track is 2.75 miles, 21 turns lots of elevation change and very technical. A blast to run. See more at www.indemotorsports.com Would love to see the gt350 run.

No suspension upgrades and still on stock run flats so not ready for any track for.
But it would be fun beating up on a little 526hp Mustang.:LOL::LOL:

csx4910 07-10-2017 08:11 AM

Yes it would be embarrassing for you if 100 extra HP and $40,000 more money couldn't beat my little GT350. At $56000 out the door I wager you have a bit more in that corvette from list price plus upgrades. Would you be willing to take me on after I clear the factory warranty in a couple of years and put Lingenfelters supercharger kit on it for 850 horses?

I haven't ever been to the track but it sounds like a blast. I am a novice so my lap times will suck for a while but it would be a blast.

I think my Bimmer could take your Corvette in the rolling start half mile DWRAT. It might surprise you although it doesn't get any better for corvettes than Callaway. I am guessing about 600 Horses?

Some of the Callaways have 757 hp. Can run 10.5s at the drags. I ran one with my 88RX7 with a Buick GN motor in it. I beat him. Poor guys family and friends were devastated. Great to see you guys using your new toys !!!

Thanks for the offer Pete. Maybe you can make the Coronado Trail Run with us this year.

Pmiller176 07-12-2017 07:02 PM

would love to make the run Scotty. Our Viper group does it too. 160 mph on the saddle road last August. Some would call that excessive, I on the other hand call it a good start. Hah! Viper group looking at an August run with a select group of maniacs like me, then a fuller group in September probably running a lot more moderately. When are y'all thinking of going? BTW, I've been prepping Mrs. Miller for the likely addition of a Cobra sometime early next year. The itch has never left, wishing I hadn't sold the Backdraft car and gonna HAVE to have another. Mrs. is 100% on board, so just a matter of getting some business finances where they need to be and we're ready to go.

Karl Bebout 07-13-2017 09:31 AM

You and Mrs. Miller, and your fine bourbon are missed.

2bars 07-13-2017 10:31 AM

What club /group is running at Inde? I played there with my GT 500 and it is a fun track. I would like to try it with my Cobra.

Pmiller176 07-14-2017 05:19 AM

I'm a member and can get 5 guests on track on any given day. So if a few of you really want to go on track we can set something up. Let me know if serious interest and we'll work on it. Track is very open now into September. Events start to get a whole lot more frequent then as you'd imagine. Maybe a quiet weekday event? Just have to sort out how to avoid getting fried by the heat getting there. Arrival at Inde by 8:30-9:00 am, run to maybe noon to 1P. Stay over night and drive back North wee early the following morning. Otherwise trailer the Cobra's down...?
