Carolyn had surgery this afternoon. Had a bone graft, plate and screws in the humerus near the shoulder. Keeping her overnight, she was in good spirits and no pain due to a block to keep pain down. she will get released tomorrow.

Danr55 12-30-2017 04:30 AM

Wow, sounds like she did it right. Give here our best.

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 12-30-2017 06:57 AM

Wow! Sure glad to hear Carolyn is on the mend. Fall, break and pain are no fun. Best wishes for rapid, favorable results. Maybe now she can get to work making more peanut brittle for next year? Can she bake with one arm? Am I in trouble for harassment?

That is like me saying I know the way.

Looks like 10 Cobras from the Valley of the Sun and one from Tucson with about 15 people in all. See everyone at Idaho and the 60 for a 10;30 Departure. Honorary attendees, Mikiec and Karl.

Karl Bebout 12-31-2017 07:40 AM

Eat some green Chile for me.

Well... One car (and one bald guy) dropping off the list for today.

Tried to get the car ready to drive yesterday, but I've got a perisistent coolant leak coming from the thermostat housing area - I have to take it back apart again to see if the neck itself is cracked or something- cleaning everything up and replacing the gasket yesterday didn't do the trick.

If it was a less severe leak I'd probably just make the run and deal with cleaning the engine later, but it's leaving a good dinner plate sized puddle under the car everytime I shut it down.

You guys: Driving
Robert: Wrenching

Happy New Year - 2018 kicks off in the garage, not on the road... yay.

Karl Bebout 01-01-2018 03:21 PM

RB, you've got more eXcuses than...than...than...Danr

Phx Mike 01-01-2018 04:52 PM

You guys missed a good drive today. Ended up with 5 Cobras from Phx plus a Daytona, and one from Tucson. Nice run down from Superior to Winkleman where we got passed by about 25 guys on motorcycles doing 100 plus. Fortunately none of them turned into hood ornaments for us. We caught up to them in Winkleman at the Shell station. Then over to Lupes for some good food and great service and then back from whence we came. Heading back up the 79 to Florence I had Danr and Greg behind me for a while and then poof Danr was gone - not sure if he stopped to water a bush or what. I made it home by 4:00 275 miles. Only saw one LEO - cruising through Florence.

Danr55 01-01-2018 05:50 PM

Bush watering is part of the job when you get older. Lee, Andy and I stopped in Florence so that Andy's son could pay hommage to the spirits of the flu bug he had just gotten over and so that Lee could put on fuel. We zoomed on through and I rolled in home just about 4:00. Adriana and the grand kids were waiting and ready for dinner. It was a great day and a great run.

It was a great day and great way to start off the new year.It always ends to quick.......

hinoonaz 01-01-2018 06:35 PM

Sure was a great day. Perfect weather and no donations to local police. Ralph and i took the short cut across to 10. Great road with centerlines this time. 80 plus all the way except Ralph got hung up behind a Honda. Happy New Year !!!!

greg keller 01-02-2018 09:48 AM

Great New Years Day Run! Perfect weather, good route, great friends! Perfect way to start the New Year!

Maricopa 01-02-2018 11:41 AM

Sorry I missed it. Spent my 'vacation' working around the house and yard and needed that last day off to veg at the inlaws.
Did actually wash and even clay bar'd the damn thing though....

Karl Bebout 01-02-2018 04:19 PM

Wax on. Wax. Off.

So much better than putting a few hundred miles behind the windshield, on a beautiful day.

mikiec 01-02-2018 04:44 PM

Mike, Priorities...

LRRCobradreamer 01-03-2018 12:26 AM

Yes it was a great trip. Andy’s son Mike rode with me from the gas stop. We got caught behind several cars. This turned out to be great. I just HAD to catch up. Took about 10 minutes running from 90 to 110. What a great trip and Mike liked to too.

Dan, when that vette passed us on rt 60 going home, did you give him “the fickle finger of fate award”?

Lee

Danr55 01-03-2018 03:14 AM

No Lee. I would never even consider insulting a Chevette like that.. I just waved and gave him a peace sign.. You know with TWO fingers in a "V" formation.. Some of my best friends drive Chevettes... er, uh corvettes.. I mean corvettes.. I keep getting them confused. You know how it is when you get old.. If you don't, ask Karl.. He can tell you about it..
