1/4 horsepower but still a lot of fun
Aliedog in Tucson,
Any leads on a clean Z car for a restomod in Arizona? it will only have 300 instead of 600 hp that my cobra does but the 70-72 Z is still on my bucket list. Ron |
@csx4910, These conversion's on 240,260,280, and Rx-7's, are a hoot to own & drive. I spent a couple years looking for just the right one. Found a 86 Rx-7 (Built by a Boeing Engineer) with a built 302 Roller Rocker (350-360HP), and a T-5. Mine is a sleeper, quiet pipes, stock wheel's, etc. But you nail it, and it go's up in smoke in the first 3 gear's, the look on the Honda, WRX, Nissan, etc. guys is worth the price of admission. Surprised a Vette or two :)Even my hot-rod friend's think it's pretty cool. It's a keeper for sure. Good luck with your search, Get a S-30 series Z while you can, they are bringing BIG money now.

Not sure, but he may be looking for a 1970-1972 Camaro Z28.

Bring A Trailer has had several 240/260 Z's listed, though you might be looking at having it shipped in some cases.

no I am looking for a 240Z(the real z car not a chebby!). Guys now are pulling 300 hp out of the stock block with a stroke , cam and a few other mods naturally aspirated. Throw in a later bigger Z motor with a turbo and you can push 500-600 from the 6 cylinder
Thanks |

So Ol'RodKnock, we're both wrong :) He's looking for a 240Z, with the 6 still in it. csx4910, if I may so boldly add. I've had 4-5, 240's over the years, and a few more 260-280's. In fact I sold my last Z 3years ago, a 75 280, that I had built, with all the go fast parts, 3.1 stoker, 5-speed close ratio, LSD, 4-wheel disc, Kept the fuel injection, made it tuneable. The best Z I every had, best 6cyl. sound, and I've owned a few 911's. Unless your heart is set on a 240 (very expensive ) I would look at a 260,or 280, (cheaper by a few dollars) but far more refined, to start a build with, Just my $.02, Tom. How do I turn the pictures right way up.
