Used Avon Tires
I got a nail in one of my Avon CR6ZZ 295/50 x 15 tires. Just a very slow leak but I didn't want to be worried about it so I bought a new pair. They're about half worn. If anyone is interested, make me an offer. If you PM me with your email address, I can send pictures.

I'm still thinking that putting a good "radial tire " tube would make the fire good to go. I ran tubes in my drag slicks for years, most times with less than 12#s pressure, at speeds in excess of 130mph, and the fast cars to 'way faster.

Probably correct. The air leakage was so slight that slime in the tire would have probably fixed it, but I'm paranoid about tires. I'm also scared of large spiders in the dark, and I worry about zombies from time to time.
