Shelby Bash

2019 Shelby Bash dates are March 14th to 17th 2019.

Since we have our fair share of JAFM's and some have that cute little snake on the fender, I thought I would share this.

It is in Vegas and rooms are available at a good rate at the Silverton. You can get more info as it becomes available here. www.teamshelby.com/topic/94580-2019-bash/

Lance from Superformance is generally there with some cars too. I was told Superformance cars are welcome. Of course anything Shelby is.

They have track days for those spirited drivers and fun activities for the rest. Everyone attends, reception, dinners, Show and shine, some very cool guest speakers. They have had Bob Bondurante, Edsel Ford II, any many from the day. Most gatherings are at Shelby American.

If weather is good, we are taking the Cobra. If weather is iffy we are taking the GT500. We will be on the track.

OK, reservations made!:)

RedSnake351 01-13-2019 09:48 AM

I thought for sure since we are no longer doing the "Kit Cars On The Colorado" in Laughlin, that this might be a good alternative.
I know it's a little ways out there, both timewise and distance, but so far no takers?

Ralphie :MECOOL:

Ralphie, I have not attended a Bash but, from what I understand and have been told on the SCOF forum, the Shelby Bash is open to only Team Shelby members, Shelby car owners and invited cars such as Superformance. You may not be able to attend the festivities or the racing at Spring Mountain track in Pahrump.
I would caution your expense before checking out the qualifications.
I will be at the Mecum Auction at State Farm Stadium.
AZ Bob

Just a quick update. I took my GT500. DId two track days. We had a couple special cars there for Ford freaks. Ford brought the 2020 GT500 and a 2019 GT350R. One guest brought his new Ford GT. He was the designer of the 2005 Ford GT. Shelby brought and gave hot track rides in a continuation 1965 GT350R. Ones that are being recreated with the help of some of the Old Venic Crew of which 3 guys were present. Hilbanks was giving hot lap rides in a Cobra. Multiple GT350's and GT500's playing. Cobra wise we had a Backdraft and 2 Continuation CSX cars. And the Shelby girls!

2bars 03-23-2019 10:47 AM

Oh yeah. The guy that bought CSX2000, the first Cobra, brought it too

Slither 03-26-2019 05:58 PM

And...one of the Continuation Cars won the Shelby American Choice Award!!!

2bars 03-31-2019 10:28 AM

Winning the Shelby choice award wasn't just for the outstanding Cobra, it was also for the owner's. Because Gary doesn't just award the car

Slither 03-31-2019 06:44 PM

Well 2bars, I will have to take that as a compliment because Gary Patterson graciously presented that award to our car (CSX4266), my wife and myself. I hope to someday meet you and see your Superformance! Thanks again!

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 03-31-2019 07:16 PM

Well Bill (Slither) long time no see. We miss your car too. Hope all is well

AZ Bob

Slither 03-31-2019 08:31 PM

All IS well, Bob. A few medical issues and just plain getting older. Car is fine. Just needed a few minor things like batteries, fuel pumps and stuff like that. How are you and your car doing? I hope the answer is GREAT!

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 04-01-2019 12:34 AM

Yes Bill, my cobra is doing just fine. Busy in retirement. 4 grandsons close by, oldest is 7. Lots of sports and activities.

AZ Bob

Bill, BobB neglected to mention how much time he spends with his JAFM friends....

It is definitely a complement. I think his award was first to you and your wife and then the car. We were there to see you get the award too. We did get to meet and talk a bit. At the track, you were by the yellow Shelby GT with Vince. My wife was in conversation with you all. I had to leave for my rack session in our GT500 white with blue strip.
Great meeting you both. And the car is awesome too

Slither 04-02-2019 06:53 PM

2bars, the orange 2008 Shelby GT-C that I was standing by with Vince is mine as well. Vince autographed my dash and Gary eventually made it over and signed it too. It was a good event, don't you think? I wish the AZ guys would get involved. Thank you again for the compliment!
