B-J and R-S Auctions

Planning on B-J on Monday cheap day and would like to join Karl and Bill Thursday at R-S. Let me know what time.

Big auction season phew

Moving ahead of last year?

Mecum's Florida auction this week looked soft to me. Some cars were immune (like the 2.2M Shelby) but for the most part the list had a lot of reserve not met.

Tony is right about the reserve not met part but I don't know if that is because the reserves were set way ahead of last year or because buyers are cheap this year.

Bob and I met up at 10am, toured the auction automobiles and talked to several vendors, including Superformance and Factory five. After about four hours we decided we had seen it all and headed out the gate.

It's a combination of the two. It signifies a disconnect between perceived value by the sellers and the buyer's pocketbooks. Wait until you see the bloodbath at Barrett Jackson (no reserve). It's a buyer's market.

Great Day to go to the Barrett-Jackson Event. Spent all day with Keith and even saw Bill Bryan scoot by. Said hi to the gang at FormaCars, Factory Five, Shelby and Superformance. Took a couple of photos below. Got the free T-Shirt from Ford with the new GT500 on the front. Walked 4.3 miles (10,000+ steps.) Went home and took a nap.
