Butcher's Hook Run-Saturday 1-19-19

Karlos and I are meeting at the Fountain Hills gas station at 10am this Saturday,
January 19, for a run to Butcher's Hook. Late breakfast or early lunch. Hope all you boys can make it :D

I’m in. Any chance we can leave at 0900?

Karl Bebout 01-18-2019 08:53 AM

Mike, we're trying to wait for a little warmer temps, hence, the 10am lift off.
Kinda wanting the sun to be higher to melt any ice off the road.

Phx Mike 01-18-2019 12:49 PM

Okay - I can do 10:00 and will join you guys. I may have to skip lunch though - I need to be back in the valley early afternoon

Karl Bebout 01-18-2019 04:00 PM

We will look for you. If the sun is out, you won't be hard to spot.

Is that the same station where we always meet? I’ll be there at 10:00.

Phx Mike 01-18-2019 08:22 PM

Yes the Chevron there on Shea just west of the Beeline intersection

Phx Mike 01-19-2019 08:18 AM

Greg correction - SHELL station not Chevron. On Shea.

Great drive today. Greg, Scotty, Karl and I made the drive up to Punkin Center. I did not stick around for lunch but we all had a great drive and beautiful weather. A little chilly going up over the Mt. Ord pass.

212 miles for me since I came home the long way, through Roosevelt, Globe, etc. Didn't see even one LEO, and more importantly, not one saw me. Got a whopping 15.5MPG. Not so good for such a puny engine, but there are a lot of carburetors to feed and MPH may have had something to do with it??? Felt good to get some of the layers of clothing off when I got back to the valley.

Dammit, I’ll have to get on the CC on a regular basis, just saw this post this morning!
