I will look at that! Have gotten leery about car mags & subscriptions!
I dropped my subscription several years ago to both Car & Driver & Road & Track.. I was not getting to my Car & Driver issues (too much going on and too many mags). So I did not re-subscribe. But they kept mailing me issues. Suddenly I was getting threatening letters from the publisher (same publisher/distributor) and threats that they would turn it over collections companies. I tried to call- but there was no way to talk to a real person. So I wrote a letter outlining that they cannot automatically renew the subscription without my permission. And I dared them to continue since my wife was (at the time) Legal Counsel for several companies in this type of business. They then stopped the collection process and did not send any negative reports to the credit reporting companies. Needless to say I no longer subscribe to those mags! Motor Trend is a different publishing company then the other two. |
