I’ve never made either run. What’s different? Do we stay at Springerville either way?

Danr55 09-03-2019 04:02 PM

This year, yes. The trail has 114 turns in 34 miles or something like that. The New Mexico route has more straights and chances for high speed runs.. you tie back into Arizona at Alpine and run from there into Eager. If you've not done either one, try the trail just so you can say you've done it.

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 09-03-2019 04:44 PM

Mark, try 4 times as many turns. https://www.dangerousroads.org/north...nic-byway.html
Made for sports cars. A Bucket list experience.

Once again...Danr underestimated the facts. I'd heard to years that the 119 miles had 460 turns...not counting the ones I made going up the mountainside.
Mark, by all means, take the trail. I would but bad juju is bad juju.

MKS427 09-04-2019 06:29 AM

I'll do the trail run.

Karl Bebout 09-04-2019 08:39 AM

AttaBoy Mark.

Danr55 09-04-2019 10:08 AM

I just spoke with the folks at Hanningan Meadow. Seems they have always closed at 2:00 for lunch. We need to try to get there before 1:30.

Karl Bebout 09-04-2019 09:11 PM

Better make it 12:30, as slow as their service is when but with a bunch. Me, I'll try not to worry about it

Danr55 09-05-2019 04:15 AM

Carlos the point being we've rarely if ever gotten there before 2:30 so we got there after they were closed. They have never refused the service they're taking a long time but we've always got fed. Pretty good for walking in on an organization that's already close the door.

DrDuc 09-05-2019 07:21 AM

Count me in for Hannigan for lunch, too. Still need to get my room in Eager.

Thunderhill 09-10-2019 11:18 AM

We're booked. Cobra and Roush Mustang 4 people.

Danr55 09-10-2019 01:23 PM

Welcome to the insanity.. always glad to have a representative jafm along.
