Default Coronado Trail Run

Got a note yesterday from a member who was very concerned about the Coronado Trail Run this year. I explained that we usually plan that later in the monsoon season so we can avoid as much falling hydrogen dioxide as possible. As soon as we have a better feel for the Monsoon, I will be posting some dates. Something to think about. Last year there was a split between the club. Some of the folks wanted to stay at the Lodge at Hannigan Meadow. Some stayed in town at the usual haunt. I am going to set up the usual motel in Eager. If everyone wants to stay at the lodge, then let me know and I'll see if we can work something out with them to take the place over. I believe the price differential is about $70, with the lodge being the more expensive. If you have a preference, please indicate same here.

I'm in barring any scheduling conflicts. Eager is good with me.

Eager is fine with me, also. Stayed at Hannigan last year and it was delightful, but so quiet I woke up every time a car drove by on the highway.

OK then, when we get closer and choose a date, I will call the hotel in Eager and make arrangements.

Eager for me, but I am taking the route in through NM, like Bob and I did a couple years ago. I'm thinking though that I won't take that little scenic detour to Duncan, was it?

Should we change the name to the western New Mexico run? Karl I can understand because that mountains got a curse on him.

Bad luck and trouble, are my middle name on the Coronado Trail. Even the one time I was riding with Superstition Bill, his car broke down. I know...some people would call me a "run buster". But that guy's not around much. At least I'll be at Springerville for the lying and bragging, and the Mexican food

September is coming so October isn't far behind. What's the deal, Danr?
I'll be back in town for the Clapton concert 09/14. God forbid we plan ahead...

The deal is wait a little bit and see if the weather turns. We usually don't decide until early September or late August. Right now I'm thinking 19-20 October.

That's one reason we don't firm up until later.

Okay folks it looks like it's going to be a pretty dry year, so we're thinking about September 28th and 29. I'll call the motel and eager tomorrow and see if we can set something up and I'll post whatever I find out. Stay tuned for more...
