Saturday Run
Weatherbug says it will be mid 80s on Saturday. That sounds like a run to Payson for a late breakfast or early lunch (or both Scotty). Leave Shea and B-line about 9:30. If the group feels like it, we can switch to Butcher Hook in Tonto Basin. If you are going post your name so we don't leave without you.

Where exactly at Shea and B-Line to meet?

Circle K, 17125 E Shea Blvd, Fountain Hills, AZ 85268

Cobra Gang,
Thanks for the caravan ride to Payson this morning. A beautiful day. Enjoyed the run and meeting you all. Sorry I couldn't do lunch. Needed to conduct property inspection at 87 and 260 and get back for an event. Timing was perfect! Greg had inquired about the aftermarket mirrors on my Backdraft, they are from: The Dream Car Company, 502-802-1159. Best addition to my car. Mark, can I please get the T5 guy's name and number we spoke about if I want to beef up my T5 trans? Thanks and hope to see you all soon. Gus |
Gus,
Reds Transmissions is a referral from Deiderich's a Tremec distributor in TX. I was considering changing to close ratio OD, but didn't. Address: 22957 W Hilton Ave, Buckeye, AZ 85326 Phone: (623) 910-2168 Levy Racing in Maricopa Transmissions I have not used either for transmission work. You may want to consider the TKX we discussed too. I had a Tremec midshifter and my TKO shifted poorly. Gordon Levy hooked me up with a new shifter and it works great now. T5s are different, but there is a possibility it could be a shifter issue. You might ask about that first. |
Gus, try PRK in Mesa. Call Randy 480-610-4599. They set me up when my TKO broke.
|
Thanks Dan,
I did see Randy at PRK in Mesa last week. They took the trans out and sent it to Chris at AMP Performance, a Tremec dealer, to check it out. AMP found the 5th gear synchro needed to be replaced due to a "clearance issue". Guess when the synchro heated up, the clearance was too tight causing the grinding into 5th and reverse. Also learned that my T5 is not a Z Spec trans, hence no synchro for reverse. I need to go to 5th before shifting into reverse. The trans still is not right. It's tough at time to shift and even there are times that I need to apply more force then is expected to get into gear. Something is not right. I called AMP and explained the situation. Chris said that some T5 trans are better then some. Guess I got one of the "some". I going to again reach out to Randy and Chris and see what they say. |
Good. I'm sure they can make it right.
|
I'll be there.
