Friday 6/11/21 Winslow and Meteor Crater
Karl and I are departing Circle K Fountain Hills Friday 6/11 6AM.
We will stop in Winslow for lunch and head out to Meteor Crater. We will return to Winslow and spend the night at Rodeway Inn 928 289-4606 (La Posada is booked for the next 2 weeks) they have 3 kings $59 and 6 doubles still available. We will return EARLY Saturday AM to beat the heat, 106° forecast. Let us know if we should expect you. |

Bruce, just work through the night and then get over to Fountain Hills for a 6am lift off.
Knowing Mark, it'll possibly be a "spirited" drive from Payson to Winslow, unless Lisa throws out the anchor. :eek: |
What a nice little ride Mark, Lisa, and I had! The morning weather was just abut perfect yesterday (Friday) and didn't get very toasty while we looked at the Meteor Crater, East of Flagstaff. (biggggass hole in the ground) Our motel in Winslow gave us our rooms a little early which worked out just fine. By the time we got to the motel, it was warming up. Mark and Lisa did some "shopping" and then I met them at a brewing company. I thought it was unusual that the bartender recognized them and mentioned "back again, so soon". Shopping....right. We left Winslow at 6am today and it was 50° but sunny and bright. Mark peeled some layers off when they stopped for gas in Camp Verde and I'd done the same in Payson. By the time I got home at 9, it was 95°. A nice little 425 mile jaunt before the heat gets here. y'all missed it!

I have plenty of photos, but it seems when I use zoom the pics are too big for Club Cobra to allow. I have pictures of a 10' section of plane wing for perspective. I'll show them to anyone who's interested when we get together.
