Texas Cobra Club Spring 2022 Thingy
I know that this is 'way in advance but thought it wouldn't hurt to put it out
so that those interested can put it on their calendar. San Marcos TX (between San Antonio and Austin) 03/30/22-04/03/22. Wednesday, 03/30 is primarily for signing in The club generally arranges an optional track day and a dyno run opportunity. There are multiple day trip routes laid out through the Texas Hill Country that are fun driving and nice scenery. They vary from 2-3 hours to full day. This is a very well thought out and well organized event and so worth your while. I prefer to take the Northern route that is 90% two lane roads (65-75mph) suggested speed limits but I've seen VERY few LEOs and hell, it is Texas, for much of it. I will leave Tuesday, 03/29, overnight in Socorro NM, then to Big Spring TX for Wednesday night. Arrive San Marcos Thursday afternoon. If the NM weather is sucky, I'll take the Southern route across I10 through Tucson, El Paso, etc. Too much freeway for me, but less chance of ugly weather. The Texas club has rooms blocked at the San Marcos Embassy Suites Convention Center and to get the special rate, you'll need to book through the Texas Club's site using the "Hotel Info" link. The TCC site will have all the particulars. There is a fee to enter which helps provide parking lot security, every night as well as for their other expenses. Any residual is donated to Cystic Fibrosis charities. There is also an optional steak dinner Saturday night, 04/02, at the hotel and it's cost is mentioned on the TCC site. There are usually well over 100 Cobras as well as various GT40s and Daytona Coupes. This will be my third time attending and undoubtedly, not my last, God willing. Here's hoping some of you will be adventurous and make the trip. :3DSMILE: |
Karl, great to hear you will be coming again this year. I hope you miss the snow this time.
One correction to your email. Hotel registration is open now, but Meet registration will open after the first of January due to tax rules. Here is the Meet site if anyone needs it Texas Cobra Club Spring Meet |
