AZCOBRAS Annual Picnic for 2024
Saguaro Lake, Saturday, April 6, I know it says 10am but really starts about 8am or parking spaces may not be available (can't save them).
Thanks Rob Mikula for heading up this event. Bring your food, drink, snacks or dessert to share. Normally charcoal and grill tools, plates, utensils, trash bags, and condiments are provided. Sorry, but I'll miss this year's picnic. I'll be in San Marcos TX for the Texas Cobra Club annual whoop-dee-do.
BTW, I was on Bush Hwy today and noticed another recreation spot, maybe 5 miles SW of the Saguaro Lake turnoff, just beyond the bridge across the river. It is called "Sheep Crossing". I took a drive to it and it looks like it might be considered for 2025. No where near the lake but very secluded with 10-12 casitas and lots of close up parking. Don't know when it was opened but it looked very nice. And Yes, there are toilets very near by. |
