BAGDAD: Saturday June 1 6:30 departure.
Probably going to be one of the last weekends before it gets too hot. 103 is the forecast high. Depart the Shell station at 74 and Lake Pleasant Road 6:30 AM. Rest stop in Congress at Superpumper. Head up Yarnell Hill and on to the Diner in Bagdad. West to 93 from there and head back home. |

Four of us braved the elements. Mark, Jim Cooke, Danr W/Adriana, and Me. It was a beautiful day for a little jaunt up to Wickenburg, Yarnell, Kirkland, and Bagdad. We got to the diner right about 9:30 and everyone seemed to enjoy their breakfast. Danr and I had the farthest drives and I put on a little over 330 miles. Lots of nice twisty-curvies and whoop-de-do's made for big fun. I got home just after noon and my weather thingy showed 101°. Glad I got home before it got hot.

Adriana and I took a different route than Karl...I17 was closed southbound for a stretch between Carefree Hwy and Loop 101 so we took 303 south to the I 10 and shot straight to the house. Got home about 12:20. Great drive even if I did scare my wife a time or two or three or four or.. whatever. Scared me too a couple of times... Thinking about a breakfast run to Tortilla Flat if anyone is interested...
