Drags
Bob Hughes has setup another Wed. night at the Drags.
SpeedWorld May, 29th. This will probably be the last of the season. Getting to stinkin hot. Bob has his 454 CI Shell Valley ready to go. Ths NOS is working and the tranny redone. I'm looking to break into the low 30's. Car should do in the high 12's low 13's but the driver is a different story. Mike |
The 30 second quarter run will have to wait until the fall...
I'll not be able to make the drags. H.O.A. executive meeting scheduled for that night. Bummer.... Mike |
Well,
The meeting was cancelled.... I went to the Drags for the first time in almost 35 years. First pass was a dismal 14.8 with reaction time of 1.2 seconds. Best pass of the night 13.6 Reaction .550 I1 2.002 I2 5.725 I3 8.766 MPH (I3) 82.010 E.T. 13.667 MPH 96.575 Top MPH for the night 99.367MPH@13.830 Paul G., BoB Broberg and Bob Hughes. I'll let them post their times. Ambient air temp around 103 to 105 degrees. Car running BFG's and 3:27 gears. Motor 302 ...with approx 300HP. Mike |
You guys missed the the slow run of the night Bob Hughes car ran a 28.42@48MPH, its like it stall coming off the line. I think my best was 14.22@ 94MPH.
|
And I was supposed to run a 30 second time...:3DSMILE:
Paul, What did he break this time? Mike |
I don't know if or what broke. It was still running when I left, My guess is a fuel or ignition burp.

Drags
Hello All. Been quiet for a while. Went to drags with the boys again. Especially to see Mike's 30 second pass. Too bad I missed Bob's 30 sec pass. Poor Bob, always something broken. Probably just too much horsepower with a 454, 11 to 1 compression and up to 375 hp Nitrous.
My best was 12.7 at 117. Not as good as last outing. The best humor of the night came when a passer by told me I would be running faster on all 8 cylinders! One of my plug wires was disconnected. No wonder my best up to that moment was 13.0 at 109. DUH! See some of you Sat night. We are gathering quite a bunch of Cobras on Tues and Sat. Plug Boy Bob |
I figured out what Bob Hughes problem is, DUh it a typical organ donor transplant rejection. His Cobra is trying to reject that Chevy motor.
|
Paul,
You might be right about the transplant rejection. I talked to Bob last night. Says the electronics for his nitrous system took a dump. Bob, One of the reasons for the lower numbers this past wed as compared to other wed was the temp. Ambient temp started out at 105 degrees... See you guys Sat. Mike |
