FFR & Stewart Warner gauge problems

Hi guys, Gordon has said that my Cobra will be ready a week from Friday, July 12. This is good because I'm leaving for a month in the midwest the following week. He has repainted it. The problem now is with the Stewart Warner dash gauges. He said that the S.W. gauges sold by FFR have been having problems. Right now he can't get any of them to work. Have any of you experienced this problem ? I was unaware of it. If you have had the problem did FFR exchange the gauges for ones that worked ? Did S.W. take the gauges back and send ones that worked ? Since none of the gauges are working my initial thought is that the problem is somewhere else ??? I don't like the auto meter gauges with the red dials, if you have had this problem what gauges did you replace them with ? John

Why not buy the Autometer made "smiths style"replicas
they have a nice 7 gage set that looks like a smiths
Truly beautiful, reliable but they are mechanical. Some don't like to go mechanical.

Got my set on sale for $425

they are regular $475

Tristate motors

Also suppliers are Kirkhams, and HDR
Here's the link to the gages at HDR scroll down to the 427 s/c set

Whaler, thanks for the info. I have looked at the AM gauges and they do look nice. One advantage is that they offer a clock which S.W. doesn't. I still can't believe that all of my S.W. gauges are bad. I'm wondering about the ground buss and the connection from that to the ground on the frame. John
