Oil Leak
I need a little help. The adapter plate, on the engine for the oil filter relocation system is cracked and is leaking oil faster than I can add oil. I need a new plate! I tried to fine one here in Tucson yesterday with no luck. Does anyone know where I can find a new plate?

There has been talk on FFCobra about using the Ford 90 degree bracket to eliminate the remote oil bracket and associated lines. Other than that there is a different plate sold by the speed shops. Much stronger and made out of steel rather than aluminum. I forget the brand. It's also listed in the summit catalogue. Gordon knows... Mike |

Hi Mike
I drove to Phoenix Monday morning and got a replacement part from Gordon. It is a replacement original aluminium casting just like to old one, minus the cracks of course. When I got it back to Tucson I took a tap of the correct size and thread pitch and cleaned out all four ports. I also cleaned up the threads on the two plugs and the two fittings. I used two wraps of teflon tape on all of the threaded ends inserted the fittings and torqued them to 35 inch lbs. Hooked up the hoses and no leaks so far. Bill |
