I lived in Tucson once upon a time and have both driven and flown to Falcon Field. You'll find it in Mesa. Doug Champlin's Fighter Museum is there, which is one of the best aircraft museums in the world. It is going to be moved to Washington state soon.

It's located about three miles north of US 60 and on the west side of Higley Avenue. Higley Ave is the 5000 block eastbound. The field is bounded by McKellips Ave on the south and McDowell Road on the north. The main entrance which they'll most likely be using is off of Higley. The Champlain museum is accessed from McKellips avenue, and the Confederate Air Force is located nearby.

If you need more info, drop me a line. I work at the Boeing plant just across the street from Falcon Field. In fact, if you're going to come, we can probably put you up for the weekend. Let me know.

Just wondering if anyone has a count on how my cobras are going to attend the car show at Falcon Field. Also thank you chopper for the directions on how to get to the museum..

Update

Further info. FWIW, this is primarily a Mustang show; as in P-51s and Ford Mustangs. I haven't heard anything from the rest of hte club about going, so don't know who or how many are planning to attend. It'll probably be worth it just to see the airplanes, though.

The attached link contains a little info and a map with directions, for those of you who care to go.

If anyone wishes to drive up and spend the night, the offer of a free room is still open. Let me know.

You might want to check out the CASA car show here in Tucson on the 19th. It will be held at Tucson Electric Park, just off Ajo way. They usually have a large number of cars and it is a lot closer than Phoenix. I don't know how many Cobras' will be there but there are usually a few.
What was the final word on the Michigan car?

The show at Falcon field.

The cobra club was invited by the pres of Copper State Mustangs.

As far as I know there will be 3 or 4 cobras there, based on emails I have received.

Ginny and I were planning on going but we remembered a prior engagement.

Mike C. It might be better to take Bill's advise and attend the show in Tucson.

We are in the planning stages of our 2 anniversary party on Dec. 7th. Last year we had 22 cars of all types show up with there families. This year I'm shooting for 40.
