At the Pavilions yesterday

Gave a test drive to a potential owner. I jumped up to a hundred and back down real quick. Cops were everywhere yesterday. He had a grin from ear to ear. We will see if he can come up with a loan to buy it. His wife works at where me and Angelina work. They appear to be real nice and even if they don't buy the Cobra they may become good friends. I suspect that he will be around some of our Cobra events. I think he is cursed now if he doesn't get a Cobra because he will not forget his ride. I pointed out that mine was one of the slower ones and they get much faster. He got a chance to look and hear t Bob’s Shell Valley with the 454.

I told him to go onto FFR forum and here to look at other Cobras to get an idea. I think we have a new fan, now he just needs to get in a Cobra.

Missed you Mike, hope you had fun at PIR

I thought the big Pav meet was on the 19th, or was this just a regular weekend deal?

Jason Lee Nye 01-05-2003 04:38 PM

Just a regular deal but I plan to be there on the 19th. I hope to have sold my car by then but if not I will be there either way.

Maricopa 01-05-2003 07:13 PM

Good, I had to help a buddy rescue a car in Casa Grande and I'd thought maybe I missed another get-together.

azguy2000 01-05-2003 08:46 PM

Just to let everyone know that the 19th was a Sunday, and I thought the Pavillion shows were on Saturdays?

mikiec 01-05-2003 09:09 PM

Was at the Pav Saturday night also. Got there about 4 PM and had to park all the way over by the Tokyo restaurant. LOTS and LOTS of street rods and muscle cars. Great get-together and saw a lot of new cars, many with out-of-state license plates. Several folks told me that they had been there since about 3 PM and still ended up parking in the boonies and in the center of the aisles. Great time and lots of interesting cars and folks.

Chopper - saw your car but didn't see you. I would have snapped a few photos of the car, but you were parked in a pretty dark place. Digital camera flashes aren't very powerful.

It was interesting to observe the "kids" parked near your car (more late model stuff). I seriously doubt they realized what kind of power your car has -- if they did I think they would have been eyeing it a LOT closer. Guess they'll just have to find out the hard way some day (when they see your TAIL lights... :D )

Ben

I was wandering around. I've noticed that there seems to be a somewhat evenly spaced rotation of cars at the Pav. That is, the early birds get there about 2 PM, then another slug comes in around 4 PM, some of those leave, another group arrives around 6 PM, etc. I tend to hang around the car for a while and then go check out the newer arrivals. It was pretty packed last Saturday, though. With all of the later-bees parking in the middle of the aisles, it was turning into a carnival. I was kind of interested in the Camaros parked around my car, especially the red 69 Z-28 with the 302, but as you pointed out, they seemed to be singularly unimpressed with the little blue roadster which had somehow appeared in their midst. To each his (or her, don't want to be an MCP here) own.

Jason Lee Nye 01-07-2003 10:14 AM

Yours is light blue with a racing strip going across the hood rather than down?

mikiec 01-07-2003 11:42 AM

Jason,

The light blue car with the racing stripe across the nose belongs to Randy R. It is a Unique 289 FIA car. Chopper has a dark blue ERA with #11 meatballs on it.

Mike

azguy2000 01-07-2003 09:04 PM

#11 meatballs?

Jason Lee Nye 01-08-2003 08:21 AM

Racing numbers within the big white circle on the side and hood.

SO what is the word on the rims AZGUY?

azguy2000 01-08-2003 08:22 AM

forget about them...
