Jason,
Is this gonna be your next color scheme? When does the kit arrive, it must be close? Where are you gonna park the other one? Mike Let me know if you need help unloading? |
Stewart Transport left Oregon last Monday to Factory 5 to pick it up. I will be calling Colin today to see if his driver picked it up yet. I am hoping by this Friday. He said he would be able to unload it right into my garage. I will have the kit on one side and the Silver roadster on the other. I will not be able to start the build until I sell the roadster. I would be able to work on it if I could store the body in my back yard but I have three problems, golf course with people who cannot hit the green and access to my back yard. I live in a culd de sac and the property line is angled funny and all I have is a tiny gate to the backyard (car body is to big to fit through it. And last but not least a Great Dane that likes to pi$$ on everything. If I didn’t have those three problems I could probably start work on it and just back the roadster out when I am working on it then pull it in when I am done.
I was anticipating on taking a month to 3 months to sell the roadster anyway. I was trying to unload it quickly before the roadster arrived. However if I have to sit on it, I will be changing the selling price on the Cobra forums (as in up what I am in it $24K) and also post it on E-Bay. While I wanted to get started on the Spec racer right away, I may have to wait. Oh well such as life. If I have to wait then I will be looking to get the price I want for it. Yes the white with black racing strip is the way I want to go. Also I am debating on having the new rims powder coated black as well. I wish there were more Cobras to see white with a black racing stripe though. I am off Friday so I hope it arrives around then. I will call you and Jack when I get the word. I will have my camera ready! I worked this weekend arranging the garage to fit the kit and donor parts. |
Jason,
You can build an elevated body buck for the body. Put it on wheels and place the car under it. When you want to work on the car roll the body out into the driveway. Mike |
I have a guy flying out from California this weekend. I might be selling the roadster as the Spec Racer is arriving. I do like the idea of an elevated buck. Just has to clear the garage door with the body on. However might be a moot point if the roadster is sold Saturday. Man the only problem is the down time of not being able to drive one while I am building the spec racer.
I have been taking the snake out for brief walks. Going to miss that for 4 to 6 months. :( |
p.s. got the air compressor tools ect...the only tool left to get is a rivit gun and I am set! oh and wood for the body buck!
|
Jason ~ I privately sent you several pics.........hope it helps.
