Vegan2: If you want to see just about every brand of replica or kit out there. Make a point to be just outside Columbus, Ohio on June 20th thru the 22nd at the DVSFIII. Last year 230 plus cars showed up during the weekend, every car, paint/gelcoat, color, stripe/no stripe, SB/BB, tranny, wheels, tires, hardtops, 1 roll bar/2 roll bar combination one can imagine was there in multiple locations and everyone having a blast.
Do a search and read all about the previous years and this year coming up. They all look great, just depends on what you want and how deep your pockets are. If you plan to spend $30k, you'll easily spend $35k. These "toys for boys (and girls)" are a blast to own and drive, the only down side is the $$$$$$$s that one may need to spend. Good luck with you decisions, I never regret a minute or a dollar spent on my "toy". Jim |

Thanks for the info. As you stated, it's just a toy, but that is part of what life is all about if you are lucky. As they say: Quote:

Anything can turn out to be a piece of junk. A car is only as good as the skill of the person that built it. That being said, certain products are inherently better designed/constructed than others and, even if assembled by the same person, one would last longer or hold up better. For example, if the same person assembled a Yugo and a Mercedes and did an expert job assembling both, the Yugo would still be crap (sorry if anyone owns a Yugo- I drove a brand new one once- it had 250 miles on it- and the window crank and gear shift both came off in my hands). Conversely, it is also true that if that same person assembled a Yugo and a Mercdes and built them in a half-a$$ed, shoddy manner, they'd both be crap, but the Mercedes would probably still be worth more because it is inherently more valuable and someone would be willing to inject the $$ to fix it .
I don't know if that helps any. |
