Paxton status

Appears it will not fit in the Spec Racer. Back to the drawing board. I will have my 400 HP dammit!

Does that mean you'll paint it now???:3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:

Heads, cam, intake, compression ratio, bore increase, stroke increase etc..should get you to 400.

Jason you can borrow my Wagner power painter and put a fine coat Sears finest Weatherbeater paint for around $35.00. Plenty of shades of white to choose from.

Well Jason,

If you want a do it yourself job that doesn't require a roller and brush - in addition to the engine hoist and stand listed in the thread below - I have a fairly good collection of bodyworking and painting tools that you are welcome to borrow.

It may not end up being a show quality job for your first effort but it will be a lot better than faux marble from Lowes.

I have done the bodywork on and painted somewhere around five cars. Number 4 was a 911 to 930 steel conversion in black. Somewhere around a million hours later it was straight as glass. Number 5 was a 65 Shelby GT350 clone in metallic Blue / White. That was my first basecoat / clearcoat / metallic / striped car.

All were painted in my garage - I can just hear the comments coming now about that!!!!!!!!

No Mike, I did not live in a Homeowners association regulated neighborhood.

A racecar - pece of cake.

I will be looking you up when it comes time.

I have an Association as well but so far my neighbors haven't complained.

"Appears it will not fit in the Spec Racer."

Is the issue specific to the Spec Racer? I thought I have seen some FFRs with Paxtons in 'em.

mikiec 04-28-2003 01:14 PM

The spec racer has some additional bracing running through the engine compartment that interferes with the SC. Remember the spec racer was designed for the stock motor to run in in the series.

go here and look for David Bordens post. He has a pic of the tubes:http://www.ffcobra.com/ubb/ultimateb...c;f=1;t=017933
