Jim,

There should be a caravan leaving the valley sometime on the Friday before.

I'll check as it gets closer. Last year we had 5 cobras driving up.

Brian go to this web site for information and registration:

http://www.cruisinarizona.com/carshows.html

I received motel list with application. Keep calling until you find a place. Hon Dah Casino motel full, Super 8 full.
Show Low only 16 miles away - many more motels.

Here is the blurb on cuisinarizona.com:

Sept. 26-28 - 20th Annual Run To The Pines at Pinetop Lakes Golf and Country Club - show limited to 550 pre 1973 vehicles - $25 first vehicle $15 2nd - Class Parking - Participant voting - Car Show Sat. 8am-4pm, Sun. 8am-12 noon - (Printable Information Sheet) - (Printable Registration Sheet) - Pinetop - Info: Bob 928-368-5325 or 928-368-5332

Don't plan on winning any trophies: Hersh will be first and the rest of the cobras dilute the vote so the corvettes win the rest.

Thanks for the info Bob!
I was just looking to get out with the Guys & Gals and go for a drive. It should be nice up there at that time of year. First I need to get the car running again, blew 2 pushrods! Under construction! Forget the trophies, just get the damn thing running again!

Bob I have had no luck in trying to get information on where to stay. Can you help? You had said earler that you had a list of hotels in the area? Any information would be helpful,
Thanks!
Brian

Big question for everybody!!!

With our fearless leader not going.... :0( is anybody getting together a meeting place so we can run as group? Is everybody meeting at the golf course on Saturday? I have never been there, so I am very confused, as always.
I was planing to run Firebird West on Friday and leave for Pine top late afternoon, say around 4-5 ish... If anybody has a clue please let me know, thanks!!
Brian

Brian,

If I recall last year we gathered at a service station on Shea and the Beeline highway. We met in the AM so we could arrive at the hotel in the afternoon.

Don't run at Firebird you might break something and not be able to make the run.

If you want I can get out an email with meeting info, when the time is closer.

Brian, last year we all met at the Texaco station at the end of the Superstition Freeway and all went up through Globe and the Salt Canyon. Great road, great winding drive. Mike and Dave drove like maniacs. Came back same way. The Pinetop golf course is about 16 miles from Show Low and about a mile from Hondai Casino. (spelling?) We met at about 9am and reached the golf course Friday for Check in about noon. Then on to motels. There is a parade from Show Low to the Casino at 4pm Friday as long as your engine doesn't run hot.

We can always go up through Globe. And come back through Payson. Trip back is hot!! Rather come back through Payson.
