Valley Gas Prices Suck!

Came back from Page this morning. Got gas for 1.48 in Flagstaff. 50 cents a gal. cheaper than Phx. This is B.S.! Why is it cheaper every where in AZ than the valley. Payson is 1.66.

I read an amusing anecdote a couple of weeks ago in which the author noted that gas prices in Apache Junction were significantly lower than in Scottsdale. He further noted that there were a lot more armed folks wandering around AJ than Scottsdale, and suggested there might be a positive correlation. Just an observation.

Bob, If I strap on a few grenades I should get a hell of a discount.

I think the problem may be that many of the large metro areas are required to use a "LOW PRESSURE" fuel to help eliminate ozone contamination. Most large cities are on what the EPA considers their "DIRTY AIR LIST". Being on the list requires the refiners to produce a low pressurized fuel and the stations must use devices at the pump nozzel to capture the fumes when filling our vehicles. Basically I think this is all BS and we are being punished for living in a highly populated area. May just be another way to suppliment another government agency. I am not sure I am buying all this GLOBAL WARMING fear tactics. Since I grew up in So Cal so I am aware of air pollution and the problems it creates but we may be going too far.

It is easy to prove any scenario over a short period of time. I wonder if our ozone layer over millions of years is inclined to contract and expand over time and the problem is only perceived.

Sorry to get off track but I have watched these environmentalist and "watch dog" agencies gain greater and greater control over our way of life for 30 plus years. Here is an idea, lets establish another agency to watch the watch dogs.
