Gordon,
When I finish the spec racer, I will be looking you up my friend.:D |
Roger,
I did not know that at the time.. Had I known I would have had Gordon instruct me. He was there. Thanks, Mike |
Wait a minute. I want Gordon. I hope we don't start a bidding war!
Seriously, if Gordon is available for my run group, he would be my first choice. Imagine being personally trained by Dick Smith on how to drive a Cobra! Maybe Gordon should give some of the other instructors some instruction on driving these types of cars. And by the way, there is more than one choice of lines through a turn. Depends on driver, car, track conditions and other competitors. |
"And by the way, there is more than one choice of lines through a turn. Depends on driver, car, track conditions and other competitors."
If they are in the way, don't you just giv ethem a love tap to move them out of the way?:D |
Jason, I'll teach you that after you get a lot of seat time in. Remenber, driving with a bumper is a really good way to anger some people, paybacks are inevidable. It also gets expensive to repair the car all the time.

I think Michelle was antimidated. She drives an rx7. So, she gets to get into an overpowerd 90 inch wheel base cobra with a beginner. I wouldn't have climbed in my cobra with me driving 2 years ago or now for that matter. Gordon rode in my cobra once with me driving at PIR, the second day I was there. He wouldn't use the shoulder straps. His plan was to duck if we rolled it. I rode with him next in my cobra. I figured out it could go a lot faster. I wore the shoulder straps. I was planning on releasing the belts, and jumping straight up in the air if we skidded toward the wall in nascar turns 3 and 4 at PIR. Even with passenger protection, I would scared with a beginner driving. With a good driver, I would be scared because of the speed.. Scott

Correct............
You are correct there are TWO lines through the corner,
1) the fastest..................... 2) the one that blocks better drivers, or better handeling cars until the straight................ On the track I do not like to have people in the car, anything can happin, and only sometimes is it in slow motion%/ We are going to try using radios in our helmets to talk while on the track, some instructors use them to teach, but these can talk car to car. Should be cool, also I video tape the sessions and watch them later. You can learn so much form watching after a day or two has gone by. It is hard getting used to the fact that some cars like BMW's handle really good in the turns, and you might get passed, but on the streights you can get back ahead of them, cool dance. Keep it above 100.........
