Crusin' on Central - PICS
Well, we made the usual appearance at the latest installment of cool cars at the Crusin on Central event, headed by (of course) the Arizona Cobras and related machines (read: Hershal's GT-40).
Now for the fun. First, my "artsy" shot of the GT-40. http://members.cox.net/btsai4d/PICT0038.JPG And then for the laugh of the day, my son literally jumped in front of the camera while I was photographing Jeff's car. It really captures his personality. Not shy, that one... **) http://members.cox.net/btsai4d/PICT0033.JPG Here are the rest of the photos. Crusin' on Central pictures If anyone would like higher resolution versions, just let me know and I'll be glad to e-mail them to you. Enjoy. Ben |
Thanks Ben for the great shots. You really have an uncanny way with a camera. I luv it!.
Hersh:) |
Good to see you Hersh. Sorry our conversation was cut short -- as you can tell, Julie and I have our hands full chasing those kids around!
|
Ben,
Thanks a lot for the great pictures! I was really bummed that I forgot my camera, but your pics are better than I would have taken. That was a lot of fun last night, wish I would have gotten there earlier to to get a parking spot with the rest of the Cobras. I have the spec racer that was parked down at the opposite end of the lot. Bob |
BobW.. Next time just pull in with the rest of us. We will make room.
Ben, As always.. Nice job. Sorry I did not get a chance to talk to you. Mike |
Ben,
Thanks for posting the picture. Sorry I missed you. I'm surprised you didn't get any of the "Action" shots courtesy of Stuart, Bob, Mike, etc. Wish I could have stayed longer and enjoyed the madness. Catch you next time, Jeff |
Jeff,
The action got hotter as the sun went down. Here is Randy's car. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...615randy_s.jpg BT Snake: Hersh glad you gould make it. Hey Jeff, what's the scoop with the carb? Purple is my wife's favorite color. (Hmm... Maybe she'd go for it if I anodized all the metal work purple...)
Mike -- thanks for the additional pics. I still for the life of me can't figure out why Bob needs nitrous. Geez, I start laughing when I'm in one of these things withOUT any assistance... :) Ben |
Bob initially got it for the show crowd. However, he has become addicted to it. I guess 700 horses is better than 500. It does move when he hits the bottle.

Ben,
The carb is new. Made by Proform - the same folks who have been making billet metering plates and main body assemblies. I got tired of messing with my Holleys in August. The 600DP and 780 just did not want to play nice. I took a ride over to Lopers (my least favorite store on earth) one Saturday to look for a set of throttle plates for the 600. They had a Proform body, got to talking with counter person and he whips out a complete Proform 750 cfm carb. Did a side by side comaprison with the equivalent Holley HP series and bought the Proform. Lopers actually had some redeeming value in my life for just that small fraction in time. They are back to useless and will most likely stay that way. Its a direct competitior to the Holey HP series for way less money. Yes, it is partially anodized purple - I had no choice in the matter. I like the features on the Proform a little better than the HP and can live with the color. Its very tuneable and has everything I could ever want and need. Little lean out of the box but a nice piece. $200+ less expensive than the HP to boot. On a side note, Bob needs the gas in the trunk because I noticed when he was getting on it Saturday afternoon heading down Central, his car was actually moving forward instead of just sitting there in a cloud of smoke. The application of the nitrous should stop that forward progress and elicit more cheers from the throngs of admirers lining the curb 6 deep. I think Discount Tire fills his tank for free. Bob, that was mighty impressive to say the least. Jeff |
Bob I had to do a doubletake when I looked in your trunk before I realized that wasn't a Gashole hat. ;)
It was nice getting out and seeing all your cars again and getting new ideas. The wife has resigned herself to the fact that it's gonna happen and is actually discussing things like color, seats, gauges etc! I hope she doesn't insist on purple! OT: A guy named Dave posted over at FFCobra, he's having an uncrating party Sat. I don't know if I can make it but wanted to spread the word. http://www.ffcobra.com/ubb/ultimateb...c;f=1;t=027141 |
All the pics sent to me by Dave S. have been posted here: http://members4.clubphoto.com/mike28...41/guest.phtml
