On The Road.....
FFR #4888 that is. At least it was supposed to have finally gotten out of the factory today, still haven't heard from Stewart Transport.
I'll be setting up an uncrating party/pizza feast/bacchanalia for it's projected arrival date (as soon as I know it) for any that want to come by. Also there are some things I could use to borrow for a couple weeks if someone has them available like wheeled dollies for under the frame and maybe an extra floor jack. Everybody heading up Norte in the cool tommorrow have a good time, I'll be at my inlaws watching football. Mike |
Ya know, I think this whole thing is gettin' just a little bit outta handl!
Mike, what's that from? Is it also Blues Bro? I'm pretty sure it's not a true bacchanalia unless there are strippers. You've already got my body buck and dolly, is there no end to this? It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new Blues Mobile or what? Fix the cigarette lighter. |
That quote is from the movie 'Crossroads' during the scene where Eugene, Willy and 'the girl' are robbing the bar/motel owner. It seemed appropriate to my Cobra obsession.
Who says there won't be strippers? ;) Why not simplify your life and drag all your tools over here? "He got us a gig, I got him laid, he owes me." Mike |
UPDATE:
Talked to Stewart Transport today, car is on the way to Stewart's facility on a 'reefer' truck (talk about a party!:)) and will have to be swapped to a crane-equipped truck before delivery to my place. Might be here Sunday the 4th afternoon/eve, if not then Monday the 5th. Mike |
'reefer' truck?

Crossroads?

Came out back in maybe '85 or so. Ralph macchio (Karate Kid) plays a (here's a stretch) whiny teenager who busts an old Bluesman out of jail so they can travel to Mississippi to discover Robert Johnson's lost song. Not so great acting, fairly decent, if historically innacurate, story line. Great music, most of it by Ry Cooder and Sonny Terry. Mike |
Now the fun begins
%/ Get out in the shed and get it finished. :3DSMILE: Half the fun is building it. The other half is convincing your patner its not costing much. **) then driving it.. Cheers Bernie Bernie Knight Mt. Gambier South Australia |
Yeah Mike, I've seen it. Wasn't Pat Morita the old blues guy?:3DSMILE:
|
That's him, he played the old 'Okinawan Slide Style' of Blues.
"Woke up this mornin', felt around for my shoes. 'Repeat' You know 'bout that baby, I got them sleeping-on-a mat-on- the-floor Blues!" |
