Dyno place in metro Phoenix?
Hi All,
I'm looking for a good dyno place in metro Phoenix to do some tuning. I'd like to find a place that can monitor A/F mixture in both exhausts as I have a separate exahust for each cylinder bank. Also looking for a place that knows to abort the run if the engine leans out. Any suggestions from personal experience are greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, DM |

Chassis or engine dyno?
For chassis dyno: Pro Dyno can do this sort of thing. Not too sure about two O2 sensors (however if you're carbureted, with open plennum manifold, side to side differences should be minimal). I have a friend that has his pro miata there every so often. Just make sure the normal dyno operator will be there. Sometimes there is a younger guy who doesn't know as much and has trouble. For engine dyno: Basko Engine Service. Jim Basko is first rate and does another of my buddies' blown alcohol dragster motor. Years of experience... Good Luck |

I called ProDyno at noon today (Friday) and just got an answering machine. I left my name, number, a message and never got a call back. Hmmmm... Customer service means a lot to me and not getting a call back left a bad taste in my mouth. I called B&R. Very friendly people. Both dyno operators will be on vacation next week so it will be a while. They quoted $175. I'm in no hurry on this so please keep the suggestions coming. Thanks guys. |
I use Dyno-Comp on Raintree in N Scottsdale. I have found them great to work with, excellent equipment, and very real numbers as compared to some others I have seen.

Chassis Dyno and Enghine Dyno
all text all text There are other dyno's in town too. Chuck's speed shop on 7th Ave south if Camelback has an excellent Chassis dyno. Call Lance there.
Mach Development on the west side is a sprint car motor builder and he has an engine dyno. By the way Mach development builds Bob Ream's son's motors. He's very good and very accurate |

Keith 480-615-4366 He has a O2 sensor and I have my car there twice. His drum is in the ground, and you get to drive (?) the car so if you hear any sound you dont like you can shut her down. very Cobra friendly. Keep it above 100........... Brian |
Anybody have any experience (good or bad) with Automotive Diagnostic Specialties? They're at 6835 W. Chandler Blvd (between between I-10 and Kyrene), 480 961 8704.
As part of their $150 dyno service they weld in a bung upstream of the cats which is where I've heard A/F measurements should be made. None of the other shops mentioned above seem to do this. |
You have cats? Get a dog instead, no welding required :)
Seriously, what are you tuning that has cats? |
