Mikiec,

I hope that isn't close to where your house is. I have seen enough of that stuff here to last two lifetimes. Never a good feeling no matter if it is miles away or just a few hundred yards. Crown fires can move so fast it is unbelieveable to anyone that hasn't experienced it.

Ron,

The fires are abouot 80 miles from the Phoenix area. We passed through there on the way to the home of one of our members. This 30,000 acre fire is in the general vacinity of the 500,000 acre fire 2 years ago.

Seeing those pictures make me mighty
glad that I am in the fire sprinkler contracting
business and not in the hands-on fire
fighting business. Looks very hot and I
bet it can move very fast!

Neal Jackson's area...northeast corner?

Another summer...another Az fire. Why don't you guys get it over with and just have one state-wide controlled burn? We'll have THE earthquake, and we'll all move to Vegas Beach.

Jamo,

This fire is quite a way from Neal's place. Thats a good thing, not sure how Neal would feel about having to evacuate again.

The road we took the pics from, Arizona 87, is going to be closed this week to start a back burn to protect the town on Payson.

Really frightening being in it.

I was in LA after the 'Run N Gun' (October) last year when the fires were burning all around us there.

The drive up 405 from Mexico was terrible with smoke and ash everywhere. Camp Pembleton (spelling) area was well alight and the hills behind LA to the east were on fire also. It was scary.

I'm still finding ash in my luggage and clothes..

Hope you guys all stay safe.

Cheers

Bernie
