FFR Delivery! Any engine hoists to for loan?
After many sleepless nights, My Factory Five kit will be delivered to my house on either Monday(8-2-04) evening or Tuesday! After an wrestling with my 8.8 axle assy, bent back and some profanity,I've decided not to use manpower to move the engine I have coming in a few weeks. Anyone have an engine hoist in Tucson I can borrow/rent? Thanks guys! Dave

engine stand
Just my 2 cents but everybody needs a stand and here is link to Harbor freight. You will need to install later anyway and when done if just never going to use again sell in yard sale. For a 35 buck investment you can darn near get that back in a yard sale. I have one you can use but I am in Phx. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=32915 So you can pick one up fro 40 bucks sales price but with printed coupon you can save another 5 bucks. I did learn a little cost saving fact for you. They price match anybody, even themselves so look in web site for prices and if lower than store price print it out and take to store. They will do a price match agianst themselves and save ya a buck or two.
Of course this is not including the RULE of life for me anyway. That is the fact that I can never get out of this store for less than a hundred bucks no matter what. |
Great price! Thanks alot Jeff! en routr ti Harbor freight. I never looked in spite of the 100 or so times I've been there. Dave

4into4,
Are you looking for an engine hoist or engine stand? If you are looking for an engine hoist, check out Pep Boys. They have a TORIN 2 ton engine hoist (T32001) on sale here in California for $119 till 7/31/2004. I don't know if you have a Pep Boys there in AZ or if the sale price is good there if you have one. Does not include engine leveler. I'm picking mine up today. The engine leveler is not availble thru them, so I found it (LEL1) at Autozone for $39. Hope this helps, Wayne |
Checker Auto is selling their hoist, with a leveler for about $139. Pretty good deal.

I got my engine hoist at Costco last year and it came with a leveler. I think it was about $180. May not be the cheapest anymore but was at that time when you added the cost of the leveler to the others, including harbor freight. I htink the brand was something like Alcan but I'm too lazy to go out to the garage to look right now. Its a well built unit. I would be willing to loan it out if you are willing to make the drive up to the valley but with the price of gas you may just want to buy one instead. Beside you can find other uses for it. I have used mine a number of time hoisting pallets in and out of my pickup. Saved me a lot of time and backache.
