K-mart cruise cancelled
The NEW District Manager has shutdown the Saturday Night cruz-in at the K-mart on 67th ave and Bell rd.
Reasons.. Vendors complaining that they cannot sell their wares. Store customers complaining they could not get a parking space. But, mostly the new District Manager says he is against having Car shows in the lot. The K-mart manager is trying to get him to change his mind. Ginny and I will be there tomorrow night early to let people know. Mike P.S. We had a nice run while it lasted. |
Does this mean bad things for the K-Mart off Power and US-60?

I do not think it is in the same district. It would be nice if that district manager could talk to the one out here. Then again maybe not. It is really personal to me and my wife. She is the one that started the show. It may also have something to do with the size of our show. We started with 30 cars last October and have grown to over 400. No problems with owners and general public. Everyone abides by the rules setup by Kmart and Ginny. Mike |
Hey Mike, the bottom line is this " you give a little man a little power and they become great big A""holes" it made him feel good to have the power to shut the party down. Does the Pavillions still draw this time of the year??? I finally got a new ride and wanted to show it off a bit

The PAV is still going strong. They do not have a district manager problem.
As soon as we find another site or the store manager can talk some sense into his manager, I'll post it here. Mike |
Mickie, sure a bummer about your Kmart cruise. The one in East Mesa is still going strong and when I asked Steve, who ramrods the thing, he said he hadn't heard anything. Good luck with either getting back to that Kmart or in finding another location.

In our last discussion with K-Mart they told us we will have an answer to whether or not they will allow our show to go on in about a month. Apparently this has become a corporate decision and they want all K-Marts to get approval before hosting anything in their parking lots. The decision will be made by a commitee consisting of property owner and Kmart supervisors. Not sure how this affects you guys out there. Whoever, is running the show should contact the store manager. Mike |
