need coolant xfer pump 12 VDC

I need a good engine coolant transfer pump. It will pull double duty to supply heater in winter months and supply remote mounted cooler for summer needs. I have used fuel pumps with fair results and think there must be better product out there. The NASCAR guys use a pump but cost about 300 bucks and that just seems wrong. I need some ideas here guys.... help. 12VDC pump for 250 degree max petrol. based liquids ????

Hi Again Jeff,

The pumps we use for Tranmission and Differential coolers are pretty expensive, but they don't leak and they are up to the task. For the purposes you have, I am curious why you are not considering using the water pump, itself, as the "pump" to circulate the engine coolant. The port on the water pump itself is the input side - coolant flows into the pump because (rule here) "Water Pumps Suck".. Run your hot side (output from the engine) from the head at back of the intake manifold.

Now - if you are talking about recirculating engine oil from/to the sump, you will need the high dollar pump or you will have a mess on your hands (and everywhere else).... Fuel pumps will only work for a short time. Once you put 250* oil through them, the diapraghms and/or shaft seals get hard and crack - leak city....

Moroso makes a pump for such fluids. I believe it is advertised as a differential cooler pump.

Thanks for the ideas, I am running an external cooler mounted basicly under the passengers seat area for extra cooling for those stuck in traffic moments. This requires a pump to move coolant through system and return to block. The ON time is limited but need a pump that performs in these conditions.
