new member has question????

Hello, and thanks for having me on your forum. Thought someone in Arizona might know the answer to this.
I currently live in Phx, but from 93-98 I lived in SW Colorado. On a visit to Phx in 1996 (give or take a year), I test drove a Cobra replica offered by a business around 48th Street and Southern Ave near the Tempe/Phx border. I cannot recall the name of the man I spoke with, but he let me drive a blue/white 427 Dove motored 427SC which was a tight, rattle free car, very impressive. They had several frames/bodies around, looked like they knew what they were doing.
Does anybody know who this was, and where did they go?
Thanks again.

That was High Tech. They made outstanding cars but went belly-up several years ago.

Try Gordon Levy. He has built two cars for me and can answer any of your questions even if you decide to go somewhere else.

Levyracing in located in sunny Tempe Arizona just minutes from Sky Harbor Airport (PHX) and a short drive from Phoenix International Raceway (PIR).

There was also Peyton Place, Inc. then Swiss Tuning, Inc. at 4300 E. Magnolia St. in Phoenix. All Gone.

Gordon Levy would be the man to see for a Factory Five.

If you want a Superformance see John Panfil at Anthem Motors or Art Manning at SPF Scottsdale (Hillbank Motors).

Thanks, guys, for your responses. This industry sure has changed (for the better, I suspect) in the last 10 years. FFR and Superformance did a great job of establishing themselves in a short time. To bad Hi Tech didn't stay around, I remember that being a good car. Oh well, there seems to be alot to chose from. Thanks again

Brian,

I was gonna ask him the same question. But, hen I saw him on lower central with a dozen Jim Bean bottles around his feet. I think he was crying... :)

It still is around, sort of. The Hi-Tech car evolved into the fiberglass CSX4000 car that is offered by Shelby, whenever they can start producung them again to meet demand.

lizzard71,
You have been given some great options and will find CC an unbeatable source of info. If you are in Phoenix now call me and arrange to see the Cobray-C3. You can also find us on the web or in Curt Scotts' Complete Cobra Buyers Guide on page 68. Our URL is www.cobrasnvettes.com or contact me for a closer look. We build a Hot Rod version based on a Corvette donor chassis. A completed body that bolts to a factory built chassis makes the build very straight forward and cost effective.
Take your time finding the right manufacturer for you and welcome back to Arizona.

It's Jack Daniels!
