Knottsberry Farm Results

Well, there goes another year. Rain Friday and Sunday. Drove about 75 miles each way in the rain with no top! Mikie would have been proud.
Bill & Marilyn, Lyle & Eric, Paul and I travelled in a pack Friday first stop in Indio for lunch at CoCos. I got 16.6 mpg! Then through the rain from Riverside all the way to the motel. Dinner Friday night at the Claim Jumper. Got there early. Good food good service. Bill Gildersleve bought. Zapped several people with my electric pen.
Breakfast at IHOP and car show all day. Good weather. Big turnout. 250 entries. Hershal & Paula were there, Kevin Young, Jaime Bateman, Gordon Levy with the Fitz's Monster.
Dinner at Karioke/Pizza place (Pizza UNO). Lots of laughs, lots of pizza, lots of beer. Lyle bought. Had truck stuffing contest afterwards. Then more beer in Bill & Marilyn's room.
Woke to rain so awards moved up to 10am instead of 2pm. Arizona had many winners.
Jeff won 1st place in his class
Bill & Marilyn won 2nd place in class and big trophy for Presidents choice.
Paul won FFR Placque for highest odometer.
I won 2nd in my class.
Left Buena Park at 11:30am and arrived home at about 5:30 pm. Weather was fine as soon as I left LA.
Will send photos to Jim Olson to post on azcobras.com

Thanks AZ Folks!

Thanks to all of you who braved the SoCal weather %/ this weekend! It was my first show and it was a great time on Saturday. Sounds like it was a really tough weekend all the way around...

Being new to this whole deal, I have to say that I just don't get the Lamborghinis that are built on a Fiero chassis... While I appreciated the work that went in to some of those cars (certainly way above my capabilities), it just seems wrong.%/

Anyway, thanks again to everyone who travelled through the rain so that the rest of us could enjoy!

Pictures are too big sorry...

I was there Saturday.. Kinda disappointed to see only one FIA... one Unique with a 342 stroker.. Was hoping to see an ERA FIA. I could only get pictures down to 200kB.. sorry..

Glad to hear all was well. No top... Way to go Bob. Did Lyle have his top on?

I found myself singing to an imaginary Karioke maching Saturday night about 6PM. Keith and Linda gave me a strange look.

Thanks JAWA! I am thinking of building a guitar themed as that GT40. Love that color combo!

Knotts is always one of if not my favorite that we go too. The folks at AHA do a great job with the exception of not ordering perfect weather for Sunday like we had for Sat. it was great. Got to see a lot of friends and that's what it is really about for me. Also saw some new faces and talked with a few CC and Gasholes that I have only traded theads with.
Congrats to all trophy winners with a special Right On for Bill & Marilyn for the Presidents award!

Doug, I can't speak for this year 'cause I couldn't attend, but I was there in '04 and there were a few very nice Lambo replicas built on custom tube-style chrome-moly frames with full late model (LS1) Corvette running gear and suspensions (along with air ride lifts for eliminating driveway ramp clearance issues). They were first rate turn-key cars built by someone in AZ and were around $100K. Certainly alot for a replica, but a very well designed one that utilized alot of the factory exterior parts.

Knott's 2005 Results

Hi Gang,
Thanks for braving the weather and making Knott's. Believe it or not this is the first year in over 20 that we've had to move the awards early due to weather but seeing as this has been a record breaking rain year I'm not too surprised. Winners pictures will be up on the club website www.replicarclub.com in about a week so you can see yourself (or what you missed).

Thanks for the fun!!!!
