Australia and all
1 Attachment(s)
Greetings
Just got back from Australia and boy are my arms tired..... What a long way it is from here. I just wanted to say that no matter where you go in the world, car guys are always the greatest people to hang around with. I encourage everyone to go over to OZ and check it out - even with obstacles that make our DMV rules a joke, these guys persevere and build some really beautiful cars over there. This is a great fraternity and I am honoured and humbled to be a member of it. Here's Bernie and I in Melbourne... Mulv |
By the way, Bernie is standing on a box and Todd used trick photography to make him that tall....

Hey Steve, I'm just surprised that we let you back into the States... :3DSMILE:

My wife is headin down to Melbourne in two weeks for a international music conferance. How's the weather? She's staying at the Elizabeth Towers.. Sounds familiar? She wants to see some penquins out on this island....heard it's a major tourist site. Thanks

I think the Elizabeth Towers is on the corner of Flemington Rd and Elizabeth Steets. About 1/2 mile from the centre of Melbourne. :MECOOL: When I left it was a sunny and mild 18c (66f). Look without being critical of the Phillip Island penguin parade, I feel that you get a better look at the penguins close up at the Melbourne Zoological gardens just nearby. The zoo is within walking distance of the Flemington Rd. The zoo is about a 1 and 1/2 mile walk across the park behind the Childrens Hospital. Phillip Island is a $50+ bus trip and then admission to the Penguin Parade. You sit on a concrete step under flood lights and watch the penguins leave the ocean and walk up to their holes. From a distance of about 30 - 40 yards. Just my $0.02 worth. Perhaps some other Aussies my chime in here. Bernie on btsnakes site. |
Thanks BT...I'll pass it on..
One other item... She wants to buy a nice didgeridoo. What's the going prices down there for one native made? |
Airport tourist type shops are around $250 or so.
I did see some in a Melbourne art supplier shop at nearly half. Additionally some of the bigger hotels/motels have tourist type shops attached. Perhaps "Post" a "Thread" on the Australian site and I'm sure someone will have both a price and a location in Melbourne. Bernie Bernie on Hershals' site - btsnake |
