Ceramic Coating
Has anybody had their pipes coated by Affordable Powder Coating in Phoenix? I just got an estimate for ceramic coating at $11.50/linear foot. If my measurements are correct, that's about $60/pipe. Seems very inexpensive too me.
Not that I'm a pessimist but is there a reason they don't charge very much? I got an estimate of $200 in South Carolina and most everything there is cheaper than it is here.
Thanks.

Did you tell them they were exhaust headers and pipes with mufflers?

Just my 4 inch 42 inch long sidepipes were $300 in Texas - inside and out.

I told them they were sidepipes but I didn't go into any more detail than that. They might be thinking something different. I did ask if they did the inside, too, and he said, "As far in as we can spray".
The old saying, "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" comes to mind. It just doesn't seem quite right.

Let me know how it comes out if you go with them. I want to get a set of straight-through sidepipes made for the track and then have them coated.
