Spun Out!

Scared myself tonight! Driving home from work amongst all the North Scottsdale Whackos, jockying for position, made me want to take a short drive in the Silver Bullet, ostensibly to get gas. Told wife "I'll just be a few minutes, getting my karma back." Out of the turn from Scottsdale onto Lone Mountain, I guess I punched it a bit too much before the car was straight. You know the rest. Just stopped shaking! No damage that I'm aware of yet, but a few muddy spots acquired from leaving the road.

Sheesh! Is this one of those things that "there are those who have, and those who will?"

Check your pants! With all the noise you may not have noticed!

Do it again

You need to do that trick in a large parking lot. No light poles or pot holes! It can be fun.

Did the same thing in the neast valley in the middle of an intersection at Val Vista! They just re-surfaced the parking lot that I pulled out of and whenI went to turn the corner at the intersection I spun right in the middle of the road... Everyone stopped and let me get the car going straight.. What a rush! All I saw was the tail comming around out of the corner of my eye.. After that it was off to the race track for instruction, these cars will get away from you if your not carefull.

keep the shinny side up

As NASCAR legend Buddy Baker once said, "It's amazing what you can do with your eyes closed" ;)

Had that happen to me in a Vette once. Taught me a good lesson about screwing around on public highways. Came into a hard off-camber right hand turn and started to bring the rear around. In a moment of slight panic I completely lifted my right foot, bad idea. The car swung hard in the opposite direction and went around twice. It stopped dead in the middle of the road. Good thing nobody was coming through that same corner. Glad to here you made it though the spin!

:D

It will only happen a couple more times before you get it dialed in.

Ditto, shortly after getting my road rocket I took my daughter for ice cream. On the way home I thought I'd make the tires squeel around a corner on a quiet street, you know the rest. That car spun around so fast within it own wheel base I was facing the wrong direction. My daughter got a kick out of it but I learned a little more respect from thoes too many horses under the hood. Since then I practice spins where practicle just to get the feel. Need to really spend a day with a good teacher on an open track.
