Opinions of turnkey operations

I'm going to buy a cobra in the future.
I'm going to have a turnkey with which ever company I end up
going with. I don't have the time or the expertise to build the
car myself. I've been looking at Superformance, Backdraft and
Unique. I've driven one of the Superformance cars with a 402IR
engine.
I would appreciate anyones opinion on the companies listed
above or any other company.

Mulv still wants to sell his Superformance....

Fitz 06-06-2006 03:50 PM

And a nice car too!

mikiec 06-06-2006 03:57 PM

Jim...

I like it.

Steve.. You have not sold it yet? You may need to sweeten the pot and throw in Nancy. :) :)

Walt,

This is where I get to throw in a plug for Superformance. Of the three you mention, SPF makes the best car IMHO. Some of us are lug-nuts and some are wing-nuts. I'm one of the latter, so having neither the expertise, nor the time available to build or install, I chose a Superformance. They drive nice, ride nice and, if you choose the right engine combo, will scare you just as much as the next Cobra. Check out Steve's (Mulv).

No No check out mine...

Joe, I attended the FFR Open House on Saturday. I met two other Arizona guys there but didn't see you. I'll be home about June 29th, right after the London Cobra Show, and we will get serious with you about the Hurricane and the FFR. We will show you both of them under construction in Tucson. Looking forward to meeting you, John-Tucson

Mulv's Cobra - now that's a nice car.

Would look great over here..%/ Mmmmm

Now Nancy would probably give the Cobra to me if you were thrown in Steve..

Only joking mate - Mmm on second thoughts I'm short of a good IT person....

mobilenuke 06-24-2006 04:50 PM

Sorry guys

Mulv's Superformance has been sold,I picked it up on thursday. Broke down, Friday night--electrical gremlins. Oh Well! Have posted a request for help on different thread as I am slightly confused and don't want to randomly start throwing parts into it

Perhaps it was the heat? It is very odd, I never had any electrical things. It is kind of embarrasing really. Bernie, you should have taken it to Australia, you would have made a fortune on the resale...

Steve

mobilenuke 06-24-2006 11:51 PM

Its fine now

Steve, No reason to be bare assed  even in this heat, Turns out it seems to have been the voltage reg.

Waldo, if you are looking at Turnkey cobras, you should definitely look at ERA, they are extremely well engineered, and have a reputation for 'being as close to original' as possible (except for stronger square tube chasis), and very strong resale value (but few are re-sold). Located in New Britain Ct.. You also have a choice then of either a 427 body style, or the classic 289 FIA body (my choice). The research is part of the fun. Take a trip to visit Kirkham Motorsports and look at their Aluminim body, then visit ERA. You will be seeing what are, in my opinion, the two best.

mrpink 06-25-2006 09:38 AM

Mulv, sounds like you never got all those electrical problems fixed. :D
Now, go get your shine box!

Mulv 06-25-2006 09:45 AM

Consider a used Cobra as well. I heard a rumor Fitz has one for sale.

...as do I, you can look at mine after you look at his. :D

Fitz 06-25-2006 02:57 PM

Mine is always for sale. Corvette, Saleen, Goose, Shelby Mustang; Saturn Sky Redline looking pretty good. Cheaper too! :3DSMILE: Anybody interested talk to Gordon about what it is worth and what it would take to rebuild today.

A touch here, a touch there, add a little, take off a little, make it just right!

Cashburn 06-25-2006 07:20 PM

Joe,
I have pictures of that used Venom now if you are still looking around. It fit your price and the owner is your size too from what I remember. Maybe I can help you both out.

adapsa126 06-25-2006 09:32 PM

Joe, I happen to be in the envious position of owning three Cobras at this time. Any one or all are for sale. 1 is finished w/428 and twin 4's a real mover and show quality. 1 is about 75% complete w/406 and a single 4 brl. The third is a rolling chassis with the body mounted and a 428 long block and a T-5 transmission. If you're interested or just want to talk about the cars--call me at 407-509-4000 cell or 407-850-2070 office or 407-348-9191 home. Thanks, Tony Spada
