Car painting
Greetings AZ owners,
I am not yet an owner, but i'm still researching various aspects of car ownership. Looking at the membership in AZ, most of you have cars that have required a paint job. Can you recommend a good painter in the Tucson area? If not, where? What is a ball park price for paint and prepwork for a Cobra? I'm sure the sky is the limit, and i don't want to get a ridiculous paint job, just one i'll be proud of. i don't want a car that looks great from "5 feet" then looks like s*** close up. Cheers, Joe |
Gordon Levy painted my car over 5 years ago. With the exception of my numerous stone chips, it still looks like it did the day I picked it up.

I've had 2 cars painted here in Phoenix, and know of several others that Manuel at Extreme Autobody has painted. The paint jobs were cost effective and done in a timely manner, plus Manuel is a good guy to work with for custom or unusual touches.
Sorry the pictures are so big. Both cars had ghost stripes at my request. http://www.photobucket.com/albums/a1.../image10-2.jpg At night, this car looks black. It is a dark green Volvo color. http://www.photobucket.com/albums/a1...e/000_0486.jpg The second car is a Daytona Coupe in a Majestic Blue Pearl ('05Nissan color) also with Ghost stripes and this car also looks Black at night. http://www.photobucket.com/albums/a1...PICT0898-1.jpg I really enjoy his work and I would recommend him. mannyjoe |
Gordon Levy has done my two cars. See pictures in gallery; Same as Mr Mikiec.

If you're in no big hurry, Owens Custom Paint in North Phoenix is quite reasonable. I'm sure there is someone in Tucson though.

wow,
beautiful ride!! what are we talking here, ballpark for a paintjob? i have to make sure the "boss" knows about what my bottom line is gonna be. is 4-5k a reasonable amount to budget, or am i way out of bounds here? cheers, Joe |
BTW.
Did I mention the car looks black at night? http://www.photobucket.com/albums/a1...joe/1623-1.jpg Also, at the back of the car, inside the ghost stripe, there are ghost flames above the license plate. http://www.photobucket.com/albums/a1...joe/1158-1.jpg In terms of cost, the paint on the roadster was about 1/2 the cost of the bodywork and paint on the Coupe. If you want to e-mail me I can tell you more details. I don't know if we are allowed to post phone numbers for non-contributing businesses on the forum. I would be happy to show you the Coupe if you ever get up to Phoenix. mannyjoe@aol.com mannyjoe |
