Karen...

That's a good question. As it has been awhile since we went out there. Figure 45 minutes to get there, from the meeting place.. then eat.. then return. Or just go for the drive and turn around and return. I know that's not to specific but with this group nothing is.

Seems to me that we went to Superior and made a right turn at about the only place possible, to head for Kearny. On the way back, we went through Globe and back down to Superior where Tucson John gave us the scenic tour of the town before getting to the Dairy Queen. The ride back from Globe was probably the best part of the ride, especially with about 20 Cobras in the tunnel at the same time. If I wasn't already deaf, my ears would still be ringing. Nobody admitted NOT revving their engine in the tunnel.

Karl..

I wish some one had a tape recorder of that event. The tunnel was awesome. I think I'll do that part of the trip again.

What gas station are you good old boys meeting at to head up on the run?
Karen

Scott McClain 09-11-2006 10:27 PM

I think its a Chevron..Its on the north east corner.

mikiec 09-11-2006 10:30 PM

It is the first station north of the 60 on Idaho Rd.

John-Tucson 09-11-2006 10:35 PM

Karen, as you can see from our President's posts he isn't much on directions. In fact, ask his wife, Ginny, she knows the area and how to give directions soooooooo much better. Hey Mikiec, does Ginny still give you directions on how to get to work every morning. Mikiec, we are in for a longer run as we did last year. John

mikiec 09-11-2006 11:15 PM

Karen,

Please pay no attention to WRONG WAY JOHN. The Tucson group are a little strange.. Well maybe just John.:D :D :D

John.. Sounds good. I hope this year we do not have to circle the DQ more than one.

Karl.... The Ford show starts the 15th... set-up is on the 14th.
I'll have my 65 Mustang GT350 Rep there.

Fri 11am - 8pm
Sat 9am - 8pm
Sun 10am - 6pm

When you guys make these runs... is it Cobra's only. Can a 65 Mustang GT350Rep tag along?

Thx

John-Tucson 09-12-2006 11:06 AM

Hey Hiker, last year the Phoenix guys let a GT-40 be a Cobra for a day so we, the Tucson guys, would look forward to you joining us on the run. John

Hiker 09-12-2006 11:13 AM

Thanks John. Hard to find a Mustang run around here. You'd think with all the Stangs in town they'd have a crapload of runs....not the case. I'm thinking of setting up a run myself called, "Run To The Bridge"... to the Natural Bridge State Park north of Payson. Great drive and lots of parking. We where up there last weekend and the PR say car clubs come up quite offen.

As for the run this weekend. My car will be inside the Cards Stadium all weekend. Hopefull after I get the 3M film installed, i'll make a run with you guys. Sure sounds fun.. Thanks

mikiec 09-12-2006 12:29 PM

We even have Vettes tag along. John has a soft spot for Mustangs as he has California Special.

Hiker 09-12-2006 12:42 PM

Cool...looking forward to your next run after this one....

karen 09-12-2006 01:08 PM

Thanks for the info on the run. Sad to here Ginny is not going to make it. I would love to have meet her. Looks like I am in as for now. I am excited and looking forward to it.

By the way.. just in case you wanted to know .. as since you asked.. I posted in car info or at least some..

Hiker,
This ford show? whats it all about?

Karen

Hiker 09-12-2006 01:20 PM

Karen...Here's the link:

http://www.fordsouthwest.com/main.html

Lots of historical old race cars and show stuff. Check out the race car link.

I hear there's going to be a huge swap area too. This is a national show with participants from all over the country. Kind of like a World of Wheels, but all Fords.

Best part is..... it's indoors...in the Cards Stadium.

It's Friday, Sat, and Sun

Mike Brasfield 09-12-2006 01:23 PM

Dave from Mesa....I can come the back roads and meet up with you near Apache Juct. Give me a meeting time and place and I'll join up with you there.

dave from mesa 09-12-2006 03:19 PM

Sure Mike
Meet us at the Bashas shopping center at Main and Signal Butte at about 7:30. Is that good?

Mike Brasfield 09-12-2006 07:53 PM

I'll head that way. Would I come out Brown off Power?

Better yet stop at the Chevron at Brown and Ellsworth. We will meet you there. Maybe Karl will meet us there also.

Karl says he will meet us there.
