Run to Sedona via Yarnell
This Saturday the 21st of October.
Meet at McDonalds in Wickenburg at 10am. Mike |
Crap...
He who thinks he must be obeyed just walked into my office to tell me I need to be here tomorrow AM. You guys have a great trip. Take lots of pics. Mike |
Geeee Zus Mikie, how are we going to get lost without your guidance? Afterall, there are three different route numbers we'll have to find, all by ourselves. Maybe Tucson John will come up to take up the slack. He did give us a very secenic view of beautiful residential Superior, last year.

I Am Back
Hey Guys,
A lapse.. tomorrow.. where is the run exactly? |
Karen..
Meet the gang at the McDonalds in Wickenburg at 10am. The run goes to Sedona via the infamous Yarnell Hill. From there on to the back side of Prescott, through Jerome. Leave Jerome and go to Sedona ending at the quaint Sedona Airport. Many, many miles through very twisty roads. It's a blast. Since I'll not be on this trip I'll do it myself in November. Mike |
Mike,
I am unsure if can make the whole run. I would love too though. Karl, I emailed you (fyi) if anyone knows.. how long is the time for the drive to prescott? Karen |
We met at MDs 6-7 of us. Without our leader we were lost. I lead way up the hell. Steeweeeewaarrtt join us on way. Flew by me on the way up Yarnell hill. We pulled over and waited at the breakfast place. They pass us by and we caught up again. Stewart and I had a ball going up the hill. Most fun I had in a long time. We got to Prescott and drove around the square and turned off road on the way going east out of the square but no one came. I know Karl wanted to stop and eat in Prescott so we figured many stopped there and ate. We parked our cars and had lunch in that inside shop area. Beer garden was starting to go good. We decided to leave and got back by 3PM.
I guess we got too far ahead of everyone? Had fun. Nice and cool until we got back to traffic on I-17 and Happy Valley. What a mess that is. |
I'm pretty sure I counted nine Cobras and one 350Z that made the trip. The 350Z is not a "wanna-be" but is a "gonna-be" when Dan gets his CR finished up. (Planning on installing the body for the first fit in a week.) I'm betting that Stewart showed up late just so he could play catch up. Stewart and Fitz got around some civilians on a very short stretch and none of the rest of us could, or would. They eventually pulled over to get out of our way but then we got behind some more. Nobody saw where F & S stopped in Prescott and we all stopped for fuel. Mobilnuke, the 350Z and I headed for Phoenix and the rest on to Jerome. Hope everyone made it OK. Glad the weather is not like that everyday. The whole world would want to live here.
