Feb. 24th run
Nice run today. A little nippy when I left the house, about 38 degrees. Gloves and snoopy hat took care of the chilliness.
Sorry no pics from me. In 37 years out here I have never been on the Bush Highway before. fun road. Thanks for the idea Karl. The corvette peple were nice. Lyle, I noticed a little second gear wiggle when we left the Bush and got on the Beeline. Way to go... Mike |

Bush Hwy is great! I sometimes head out there in the middle of the summer on my bike after a rain. It cools down quickly and there's lots of corners. It makes a nice little loop and you can really get moving in some areas, especially in the middle of the night:D

Well I missed another run cause my Hot Rod just didn't make sense when she gets about 4.5 miles per gal. and thats at $5.60 a gallon. I need a second car so I can go play without have to bringing 2 or 3 fuel jugs to get home on.
I am finally bitting the bullet and setting up a pump gas engine. It will be a little tiny engine at only 377 inches with a T56 behind it and is almost ready. Hope to have her done in the next 2 weeks if nothing comes up that pushes my car out of the loop. Hope to be able to make some of the up coming runs even if a bit slower. See ya soon I hope. |
Jeff, are you planning on bringing the beast out to Speed World this Saturday, 03/03. Might as well thrash it one more time before going to the mouse motor. If you come out, the Cobras with " go quick motors" will probably outnumber the blue oval guys. Dan is bringing out his Classic Roadsters rat, so that would make three of us. I'm hoping to be able to give Greg a good run, but that Roush 427 of his is certainly a brute. We shall see.

I would love to get a recent time slip, lagit I mean. Our last run was that 1/4 mile burn out at a 12 something, maybe a 12.2 not sure but not pretty. I have already changed the rear gear out to a 3.07 for the mouse motor and the hair dryer. The 3.07's spin the turbo up quicker by loading the bottom end a bit. Not good for the drags as she would be going through the big end at a whooping 3 grand maybe. On the other hand it may help with tire spin a bunch so it would be fun to make a few passes and I have the same old shltty hard street tire too. I know you also need whipping boy to take your grief from the track guys so that along is reason enough to come out. The big thing is timing, if the engine tranny is ready to drop in then I gotta go for it to stay on schedule! I have a bunch of goodies going to Jet-hot so that is another stumbling block with parts = assembly timing so just not sure. Do you need anything jet-Hotted while i am at the more the merrier? |
Jeff, those 3.07s would probably have you going through the traps just barely out of 2nd gear. Thanks, but don't really have anything to jet coat. They'd probably want a ton to do my complete exhaust pipes and mufflers anyway. Don't pass up the chance...see you Saturday.
