Tonneau cover seems kind of rough on inside

Guys,

I bought a Factory Five tonneau cover and had Gordon fit it to my car. It fits nicely but the fasteners seem kind of sharp on the inside. They don't seem to touch while the cover is on, but I'm worried about scratching the car while installing or removing the cover.

I was thinking about getting a felt strip sewn on the inside to cover the fasteners. The fasteners have these tabs that attach them to the cover, and the tabs are the sharp part....

Any other ideas or am I just being sensitive?

Steve

Felt is a good idea and will help.

It's a good thing I had that cover today!

FWIW...I had 3M rock guard strips laid along all the surfaces that the top (Or tonneau cover might possibly touch the body. Also had it applied to the tops of the doors where we rest our left or right arms.

Did somewhat the same thing with our T-Bird when we saw the top starting to make rub marks on the paint. Did a pretty fair job.
