Insurance - good news from my agent!

Out of the blue, my agent calls me today from Northwest Insurance Center, inc. 425-483-5758, and said that my coverage can go down about 300+  from Grundy to Infinity, a national company.

Of course I told them to make it so and....told them they are performing very good customer service i.e. looking out for the customer. We always hear about bad news so I figured I would say something good. :D

It's good to know there are options out there! I have been very happy with State Farm. My insurance is less than $50/mo and I can drive the car anywhere, anytime.

$50- a month! I never paid more than 20 for the Cobra. It is 10 for the Mustang and 20 for the Corvette... You can't commute to work with my policy , but who wants to drive a 40+ year old car without A/C in the traffic? ;)

$50 a month!!! I'd find new insurance. That's more than I was paying on a brand new Corvette and I could drive it anytime/anywhere.

$10/mo, eh? And that's like a $30k-60K replacement policy? Are you limited on miles? I drive the car all over the place, including to work and to the grocery store. Plus I'm 30.

Maricopa 04-18-2007 07:48 PM

I think that's a pretty good deal. I'm paying $25 a month for 30K agreed value, restricted travel and 6K a year.
Did you have to move everything over to State Farm to get them to cover you?

Mulv 04-18-2007 11:12 PM

The Mustang is 121 a year , 20K value, 300/500/500K, 250 ded, towing , rental car, az uninsured fund no mileage restriction, driver over 25, locking garage at home , no driving to work.

The Corvette is 241, 50K value, same coverage.

The Cobra was 265, 45K value, same coverage.

$600- is a lot...

Just for comparison,

My Cobra in SF/bay area is $492/year. 100/300, 5K annual limited use (exhibits, "club activities" (this provides for expanded use beyond shows, club activities can cover a broad range of use). But over the past 5 years the car has been on the road, I have never exceeded 5K miles and we do take a number of trips. Replacement appraised value $45K. This is through my Farmers policy.

Who do you use Mulv?

No maricopa, I just have the cobra on the State Farm policy. I have everything else through Allstate. They wouldn't cover the cobra.

write to Mike Smith at Classic Car Insurance ..Low Prices/Good Insurance and no deductible..I pay about $347 a year for 50K on my coupe and raising it to 65 K for about $75 more a year after I get an appraisal and new pictures mssmith@classiccarinsurance.com Dave

I have Classic Car Insurance also and for my Lister and my 1978 911, I pay $380/year (adding the 911 was only like another $50/yr). I do have restrictions on mileage (6,000/yr) and use but this is how I use the cars anyway so it is not a problem. A side benefit is that since this is collector car insurance my 911 no longer needs to be emissions tested.
