93 Octane in Chandler

Finally arrived in AZ and was curious where to get 93 octane in the Chandler/Gilbert area if it is available at all.

Thanks

Welcome to the Valley of the Sun, just in time for toasty temperatures.

I personally haven't noticed any 93 octane, but hopefully someone else can help you.

Looking forward to meeting you and hope you can get involved with our motley crew. A bunch of Cobras will be going up to Heber, in the White Mountains above Payson, next weekend and you'd certainly be welcomed.

Arizona's Premium fuel is only 91 octane. You should be fine. I have not seen 93 octane anywhere. Re-tune (timing) to adjust if needed. Your results will be the same.

There is a Loves Travel Center across from Firebird Raceway on I-10 that claims to have race fuel...I have never confirmed this I've only seen it on the awning. You might want to give them a call.

While I don't think it really makes a difference, there is a simple and very effective method for more octane if you want it. For each 15 gallons of gasoline, add one gallon of virgin lacquer thinner. I do this in my GT350 because 93 is not enough with the compression the 289 has. It goes to 98.3 octane (had it tested). I picked this up from the turbo crowd of the Buick Grand National Club years ago and have used it in the GT and the Cobra just as long without problems. To calm fears, read the back of a can of Super 104 Octane Booster...almost complete toulene...which is lacquer thinner (read the can). I have been told that the Super 104 has a touch of Marvel Mystery Oil in it as a lubricant/cleaner, but I just run the thinner.
