Car Show Sunday
For you car show lovers, here is another show you can attend. I will try to make it provided weather is good and I am not car-showed-out after Friday and Sat (2).
Classic Car Show Sept 23rd, 2007 4pm to 7pm 5350 W Bell Rd Glendale, AZ 85308 Just East of Kohls. Sponsers: Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Cold Stone Creamery. Sounds tasty! AZ Bob |
Hey Gang,
I made it to the Sunday show at the UPS Store parking lot. It was to draw folks to the location. About 30+ cars showed up many of the recent Friday night group from 35 Ave and Greenway. For the first event a nice 30" tall trophy for best overall and 2 plaques were given out as vote on by the car owners and the folks who came to see the cars. The owner of the UPS store is a car guy and wants to draw/provide a spot for the Friday group. It was a NICE deal with lots of clean parking spots and shade trees for some spots. All the Biz. owners were happy as a clam to have the cars there and gave discounts on their products to car owners. Stone Cold Creamery - Smoothie Drink shop - and about 3 other non food companies including the UPS store and sponsor. They did have a DJ but was not loud or close to the painful level like some events for this 1st time deal. I would go again and had a great time, all the folks and the Biz.in complex are happy to see ya there. |
Jeff, Is this going to be a Sunday car show or will it change to Friday nite?
|
Jeff, I had planned to attend but decided to mow/trim/vaccum the yard instead. With Cruise on Fri and Sat and attempted car show Sat I was car'd out. Through in a movie, Gun Show, Ben Avery, family dinner out and you see.
The flyer for the event was presented as a 1 time event. I even had some discount coupons ready for Cold Stone. I was in the UPS store last week but didn't ask. I am sure we will find out. AZ Bob |
My understanding is the UPS store sponsored this past Sunday as a kick off date because the other days were already in the works but is offering a location for FRIDAY. nights in the future.
I have attended the 35th Ave and Greenway on Sat. night get together 3 times now but it just did not do much for me. Wendy's right on the corner then Pop-Eyes across the parking lot picked up the ball but still left me luke warm. I am glad to have a place to go period but with major construction going on in the mall, 1/2 gravel parking lot, etc... ??? I will be out of town this next Friday night as I am headed for (The Run to the Pines) in Show Low but hope to attend the next event for sure. They are located on N. side of Bell at 53 Ave. The spot is between the UPS Store facing S. and the Stone Cold ice cream shop facing W. and all is yards West of traffic light @ 53 & Bell. Well light, clean parking with curbing and the Biz. owners WANT us there and offered free drinks and discounts. I will stop in and talk with UPS owner to get it from the horses mouth so to speak and post what I hear. PS>> Had to edit as I listed as Sat. night but intended to say Friday SORRY |
I opened a new thread labeled Friday night car show = North Side It says we are welcome to attend at this location also SEE http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/show...637#post780637
THANKS Jeff C |
Seems that the number of car shows is inversely proportional to the height of the mercury. One of the guys here at work says his church at 6101 E. Virginia St. just east of Recker is sponsoring an East Valley Cruise in on the last Sunday evening of each month. In September it starts a 5:00 and lasts until 8:00. October thru May it will begin at 3:30 and last until 6:30. It's something to do with your ride on Sunday evening..

Sounds great and not too far from where I live. Count me in...on the North side.

What time???? The traffic is usually horrible going down on the 101 from N. Scottsdale..Have a small leak coming out from somewear near the new water pump, HB or thermostat...Ahren is coming out today to see what's up...Will try to make it tonight..... Dave
