Windshield chip repair kit???

Well, here we are 6 months later, and even though John-Tucson says that nobody ever has problems with thier windshields, I have large chip in my windshield. I would like to get this filled before in becomes the younger brother of the San Andreas fault again.

Does anyone have any advice on chip repair kits that you can get at the store?

Thanks,

Steve

Just go to an auto glass shop. I use to do that for a living, and it is a little delicate.

What do you mean by auto glass shop? Are we talking about the guys at the car wash or the ones that you call that come out and replace your windshield? I will check the yellow pages.

Thanks,

Steve

Shops that install auto glass. You can have someone come to your place, but that would be way more expensive.

The Windshield Doctor is a national franchise, or window tint places?

Most body shops in our area have a glass guy that comes and fixes chips. Check with a shop, I paid $20 to have a gouge in my Cobra window fixed.. it is invisible and stronger than the original glass...

Every time I go to the car wash places they have someone %/ come out and check the windshield. I have had a few on the Cobra and places like wise guys fix them in about 10-15 minutes and they look good. Cost is 20-30 bucks or if you have no deductables on your windshield insurance policy, the insurance just takes care of it. No big deal. You are always going to get chips on your vehicles. In Phoenix that is the way it is.

As cheap  as our all vehicle windshields are the bugs out here will crack these things.
