No Side Pipes

Duz anybody run an "undercar " exhaust??
Where can I find a picture of a Cobra W/ no sidepipes.
I imagine sidepipes really change the look of the car....
I think I can build a regular exhaust cheaper than buying sidepipes.

I have always liked the clean look of undercar exhausts. Take a look.

Me too. Check out the pics.

An under car exhaust should be really cheap. Would depend on the mufflers you use. My guess anywhere from $200.00 to $400.00 parts, tax, labor included from the header flange back. Under car exhaust really allows the beautiful lines of the car to be more obvious.

I have an under car exhaust.

Originally had the side pipes; like the under car better.

Excaliber 02-28-2008 11:19 AM

I concur! Just say NO to sidepipes, I love the look, as you can see in this picture. :D

Can you say "street look?" Take a look at my gallery for more undercar photos.

Excaliber... HAHA:) What I ment was under car exhaust.. not no side pipes :)
Thanks to all for the pics.
I will post pics of mine when come home from Iraq and I build it, in aug 2009:(

:D OK, how about undercar exhaust with a 'cut out' pipe exiting just in front of the rear wheel? Capped for the quick 'unbolt' the cap and GO. Or, to be really cool, an automatic slide mechanism operated from the drivers seat! Then add a spark plug and some propane for 'flames', maybe some green neon lights under the frame, wait, I'm getting ahead of myself.

Seriously, and undercar exhaust looks great, it's a good call for those that like that approach.

Since you will need custom headers to go with the undercar exhaust here is a link to a cool system for prototyping the headers.

Excalibur,
Does the short bent piece detach--you know, like the solid boosters on the shuttle,--just before you reach orbital velocity?

Running at night, at the drag strip, back in the days when I had 12.5 to 1 compression and two VERY thirsty 660 center squirters feeding the monster.

The FLAMES out the shorties were SO cool. Man the the fence would be lined up with fans, they loved to see the Cobra run. :D

I am currently having a set of headers built using this system for a 351W in one of the Carbon Cars (Exact 427) from Texas. The system is very easy to work with and much faster than building it from a box of bits.
icengineworks, precision exhaust header modeling systems
After they are complete I'll post some photos of the results. For the muffler area I am using components from Dr. Gas. Oval tubing and a very cool thing, and small muffler (2.75 inch thick). The oval pipe will exit just in front of the rear tires. Hopefully I'll be done by the end of March. If I am real lucky, in time to fire it up and get to the Spring meet in Austin.
Regards.
Richard
